View Full Version : 5 bolt vlsd axel in a 6 bolt welded diff ok??

so i got a new welded diff to go into my s13 and it has a 6 bolt pattern. i lifted my car and found that the vlsd i had has a 5 bolt pattern.. if i pull out the 5 bolt axle thing and put it into the new welded diff would it still work??

No If its a VLSD then the half shaffts from the vlsd will not match the welded
You need open diff half shafts
okay. so you have 5 bolt axles and you're trying to put in a diff that has 6 bolt flange? not gonna happen buddy. give me your vlsd and axles and I'll give you my 6 bolt axles

pull both out (the 6 and the 5 bolt)
check lengths
if length is same, should be fine i believe
doesnt work? go j30 axles ( 5 bolt)

No, he has 5 bolt axles.
You need to go back to 6 bolt axles. Common 240sx fare

problem solved im just gona buy some used s13 half shaft.... so anyone have a pair..?

i got a s14 pair you can have..
and yes i actually have the 6 bolt axles but its on the car

I have some 6 bolt. If you can't find any locally I'll ship them out to you. Just pm me cause I doubt I'll check this thread again.
