I have a 89 hatch with a 95 S14 swap. The mods I already have are . . .

Megan racing header with down pipe, test pipe & full 3 inch cat back

Orthadox racing pully (The 1 one the bottom)

Aem Cold Air with K&N cone air filter

ACT Clutch and IDK what kind of pressure plate but I was told it's not stock

I was told to get a RB20 fuel pressure regulater or some other kind of 1 and a Q45 mass air flow. Plz help me if you have any ideas and a ruff idea on how much I gotta spend unless you got some parts you wanna give away or sell. Thanx for ur time

turbo that shit lol!!!

1. get the rest of the pulleys. i was lucky and have all unorthodox racing ones but any other lightened ones will do, alt, ps, water. ($250) + 12 hp supposedly

2. aluminum 1 piece drive shaft ($250 - $400)

3. and i just run a catco high flow cat. its so close to the same flow as a straight pipe without the environment harm! lol ($180)

4. i guess i have heard stiffer engine mounts(i personally dont believe it at all) ($180-260)

5. tune up(depends)

the rest is getting an AEM EMS($1800) but for that price you might as well just swap. there is only so much you can do to a KA

KA-T low boost, good tune
no need internal upgrade

yes for the amount of money that would have to go into the engine for a non turbo set up...and to only gain a few bits of horsepower its just easier all the way around to turbo on low boost. but if you add the bits i suggested and turbo......now your talkin!

does anyone know where i can find all unorthodox racing pulleys

Contact them directly....

Yes, lighten your drive train and car. Like suggest, lightweight flywheel, lightweight shaft, tune up, even a enthalpy tune would be good.

Carbon parts.

this has been talked about before.... the only way that UR will make more pulleys is to have a group buy of at least 50 people. zilvia tried one and it and it failed. so for now just buy another brand.

and murda-c is correct. put that in a 510 and your golden ahahahahaha

Seafoam that shit! someone had to say it. Everything above sounds gravy.
If you ever step into the engine, then get some new cams. I hear they are super sweet also. Maybe messes with idle but good nuff overall. I think they're the Brian Crower ones.
Enjukuracing.com has a whole section for your 240 specifically.

Wish I would've low boosted mines. :'(

he wanted non internal. however i guess thats not really internal for the cams. and as for seafoam it does work but you have to keep using it. 2k-3k miles.

Would you guys rebuild for a t28 >250hp setup?

Check out
PDM Racing - STS N/A 240SX Pink Princess (http://pdm-racing.com/contact/features/court240.html)
I used to watch the build on their S13 via PDM site for a while. Their ECU re-tune is said to be good for 25whp with their cams. Decent bang-for-the-buck.

I wouldn't rebuild for a T28 set-up as long as you stick with a low-lower boost level.
Don't waste your money on the AEM unless you are looking for higher hp numbers. I've seen people on KA-T.org run several hundred Hp on teh stock ECU and stock MAF.

do everything everyone just told you

pulleys (ebay)

driveshaft (phase2motortrend)

high flow cat. (any parts store)

clutch kit and lightest flywheel you can find

you dont need stiffer mounts just get new stock ones (i can get you some for a good price)

tune up is always a huge difference on KA's
I would suggest everything (plugs, wires, cap, rotor, oilchange duh, belts)

91 Ka exhaust cam swap 248/248 (if you can find em, you only need the exhaust cam)

replace the bushings so you put more power down

also check your TPS and clean your throttle plate

If that still isnt enough i suggest going and looking at some sites and seeing their build choices.

240sxtech.com helps too
enjuku.com has a ton of stuff and
pdm-racing.com/ kicks ass in alot of ways

well if he is going to get new mounts he might as well get stiffer ones....

and in California shops cannot legally sell high flow cats. i found that interesting when i bought my catco.

Did anyone say larger throttle body? That's one that makes a pretty good difference in response with any motor.

The most cost effective mod is going to be in the cylinder head.

New head gasket.

5 angle valve job.

Mild cams.

Valve springs.

Have them mill the hell out of the head.

Maybe upgrade the coil, run some hot plugs with a big gap.

Should run you about $600 if you do most of it yourself.

he already stated he had full exhaust in the original post. and as for the grounding that is a small possibility with no real tangible gain.

I have a 95. I got a CalumSult RT ecu for my turbo setup. I've been slacking on getting everything so i've been tuning it NA. I've got a little bit more power out of it. If you get to that point, i can send you my bin.

and in California shops cannot legally sell high flow cats. i found that interesting when i bought my catco.

uh go to a parts store, buy a high flow cat, take it to a shop and have them weld it in or get it welded to flanges out of the car and bolt that shit up.

quickers? delete clutch fan.....run very good motor oil!!!! and of course 91 & above octane lol also SEAFOAM that biatch!!

I dont think using an electric fan is really going to give you anymore power and all that stuff is what you should be doing anyway dontcha think?? i always ran 91 and royal purple in my 91 KA and it LOVED it. seafoam is also a good idea for cleaning alot of the carbon buildup in place you cant clean ie: intake manifold, head.

Johngriff is pretty much always right and that would make a proper difference on your car but i kinda assumed from the title you werent really trying to do any machine work?

- 248 intake/exhaust cams (Altima cams work with some modification)
- KAE pistons
- freshened up seals, timing chain, oil pump, etc
- light flywheel and worned 6-puck clutch (don't know what brands)
- UR main pulley
- Hotwires
- AEM cold air intake with the optional extension
- 3" exhaust
this yielded us an 11:1 compression KA
that makes power to 6.5k and gets
about 22 miles per gallon on 91 octane
the friend's whose vert it's in plans to dyno the car in the future

should be interested to see what numbers it puts down

we feel more power would come with Nistune,
a better MAF, bigger throttle body, SR injectors,
more aggressive BC cams, adjustable timing gears
and a good tune

^^ 22mpg then somethings wrong. I get easily 27 with my setup, running super super rich with a 255lph and OE FPR.

Get an AEM dryflo, pull that stupid screen out of the MAF.
Get rid of that EGR system because its probably leaking, keep it if its 100% leak free
Make sure your Knock sensor is 100% working and the harness is perfect. If not a 1Mohm resistor will fix that. - huge difference in performance when I did the resistor. Recheck timing @ 18* (if bypassed EGR) and make sure you use 91+ octane.

Also I have a 95, I hooked up the IACV/PCV routing to be like the 97-98. I had a 5/8ths I beleive T, which connected the valve cover-IACV-Rubber intake flex section with the intake slash cut pipe on the throttle body. This helped solved my blowby issue with clogging PCV valves from running rich.

Alot of people that build honda engines also say to increase throttle response is to only have 1 main Vac port nipple on the intake manifold. Have that vac port lead to a vacuum block.

Run a thermostat, use a nismo, run honda type II coolant, remove power steering. Get a coolant breather tank to rid of air bubbles that may mess with the CTS.

If only used in warm weather remove heater core/hoses, cap accordingly. Less heater hoses the better, follow the FSM for routing.

Relocate battery to trunk, fab a customer 3" intake pipe.
