Rack and pinion seals are worn and need to be replaced

The boots are only to keep dust and crap away from the seals.

What type of fluid are you putting in the P/S system?

Replace the rack seal and replace the boot, Or replace the rack with a known good rack, or upgrade to a HICAS Rack.

Replace the rack, replacing the seal is ghetto and chances are if the rack is that worn then you will have problems in the future.

Word. Reman rack should be good enough. You can upgrade tie rods and ends at the same time. Whatever you do, alignment is recommended after the work.

Get some stiffer rack bushings while you're replacing the rack too, they're cheap.

Energy Suspension makes urethane ones. I'm pretty sure somebody makes solid bushings, but I cant remember who.

Remanufactured racks you can get it from anywhere, but I would use Napa ones or A1Cardone ones....

HICAS racks are an upgrade because they have a quicker steering ratio, so you turn less on the steering wheel to get the same steering angle vs stock.

Your broken boots probably caused the leak. ALWAYS replace your boots. Boots keeps direct from your seals, once dirt and rocks get it, its basically sand paper to your rack seals and hence the leak.
