are u talkign about ur VSS? [vehicle speed sensor?] if so..

dont mess with that please. if u unplug it, it will stop rolling the miles along with ur speedometer wont go up. so ull have to know how fast ur going by looking at ur rpms.

i know becuz mine was ****ed up. and it was a pain to fix. expect to pay ~170+ at Nissan Dealer for the unit. mine was messed up i had to pay 120 for the unit. i placed it in and it STILL had the engine check light even tho everything was okay. it read no electricity was going down there or something along with the ECU still flashing code 14. but after a while ~50 on and off of the car it went away. it was a pain tho.

Your thinking about the reverse gear sensor.

Speed sensor's more towards the shifter than the bellhousing. Only one bolt to take out. sinch.
