Hood latch cable adjustment

So... whenever I try to open my hood by pulling the hood release lever, it doesn't pop up. I have to go and pull the hood up and then open it.

I tried searching and found a bunch of people saying to adjust the hood latch but it really feels like the hood latch cable tension is off.

How would I go about adjusting the cable so there is more tension so the hood pops open when I pull the release lever?

buy a new cable...there....u have been helped

u cant adjust the wire...its held by several tabs and shit...the only that can be adjusted in the latch itself...

dude, the latch needs to be oiled/greased.
