Silvia Ks?

Hey guys,

I've been lurking here for a couple of days, reading a lot of your posts and learning as much as I can, because I know what a PITA it is to have newbs posting too much and asking questions that've been asked 1,000 times before.

I do have a question that I haven't been able to find the answer to, though.

What is a Silvia Ks? Is that a special model? If so, how is it different from a regular Silvia?

I've searched this forum, and haven't found anything. Any info on what a Ks is would be appreciated.

silvia Ks woudl be like a SE model in the USA
all power, SR20det more factory options and you can get the aero package as well if you want iirc.

just top end Silvia trim

edit: there is Js and Qs, Js being lowest, Qs being mid
someone knows what came w/ what engine (SR20det or sr20de, i know Js was DE dont knwo about Qs). i forget

I have a K's embelem on my car but I have yet to Have a Sr20DET. I'll just say the K's stands for KA! :o

I think the J,Q, and K thing is great. But I think there is also another model that is stripped like a J but has a SR20DET.

Silvia J's turbo = urban legend.

A K's could be ordered pretty stripped though, especially the S13 K's. Buying a new car in Japan or Europe isn't like buying a car in the USA... you're not locked into a small selection of option packages. A lot more stuff can be ordered individually. You could get an S13 K's with steelies and roll-up windows. K's really just meant you got a turbo and improved suspension/brakes.

AKA driver- u are kinda right.... some K's did have non power windows, and no options, but im sure they all came the K's 7 spoke wheels. (K's rim is matted aluminum finish while Q's is machine polish. i have the K's rim!)

also there WAS a silvia J with turbo but it was CA18DET. it was never SR20DET. i remember seeing it when i was in JAPAN. but i dont remember if it was ever stripped or whatever. and trust me... it was stock. no one would showcase a stock J w/ CA18DET. oh and it was beefier by like 25 hp? who cares.

BUT lets not forget the Sil-eightys and the Club series J,Q, and K's model. wow so many differences with the S13 chasis. thats why i love it. so much drama! ;)

I've seen factory publicity photos of K's with steel wheels. CA18 models only... the SR20DET K's had the 11" brakes which wouldn't fit under the JDM 14" steelies.
