Okay, here's my problem. Went to pick up some of the parts today for the 5 speed swap for my s13 240. Drove 3 hours one way for these parts. When I get home, I look more closely at the driveshaft and they didn't include the transmission output shaft with the driveshaft. Heres a pic of a driveshaft with the piece that is not included on mine circled. Everything else on the driveshaft I have.

My question is this - will the output from my automatic tranny work in the place of this? I haven't looked at my auto driveshaft yet, I was thinking about it at work and it's dark so I haven't had a chance to look at it. If not - what do you all suggest I do? Call the salvage yard and complain? If the one off my auto will work, I'll just use it, but if not I need the silly transmission output.

You haven't researched this at all. I'll be nice anyway.

The yoke is different between auto/manual. Will not work. Period.

I have researched, but all i could find is "you need a manual driveshaft" but no reason why. I thought maybe it was just longer. After looking at my automatic driveshaft during the day, I realized that it wouldn't work because it doesn't have the shock absorbing feature that the manual driveshaft does.

- Anyway, called the salvage yard I got it from and they are shipping me the one off the car they pulled the shaft out for free (as they should).
