So i bought a s14 with a blacktop s13 motor and planned on putting it into my s13.pulled it out and cleaned it up, took off the GAREITI turbo and put some seals and gaskets and what not on it. dropped it in and went to wire it up and its like a bunch of the connectors are male, so they wont plug in together, mainly the ones in the intake mani. someone was saying it might e a sentra sr with a turbo but i doubt it as it has factory spots for the oil and coolant to the turbo, also the throttle body is all hacked up so i need to figure out what this is so i can get it done.... soo take a look and let me know what ya think. i would REALLY like to get this done so i can hit up some drift events SOOON!

Sentra Srs wont bolt up to RWD SR trans.

What connectors are you talking about eaxctly? Like where are they..Pics would probably help.

I have a throttlebody if you need one.

Are you trying to figure out what ECU you have?

It has a dizzy? Thats your first sign its not an S-chassis SR. The DET's all came with coil packs, not dizzy's. More than likely its out of a Sunny, or a bluebird.

well can i use a bluebird motor in a s13? i dont see why anyone would do that seems like a waste, easier to just get the right motor, the connectors and the ones i have circled in red and green. i have 4 throttle bodies, im tryin to figure out which on i NEED. and ya i dont know wtf the ecu is either..... Thanks for the help

also, it had an msd so i dont know really, i just hope its NOT an sr from a different chasis, i dont want to deal with that shit...

I know that way-the-hell-back, people used to swap RWD SRs into S-chassis with a distributor setup, I'm thinking JWT but it has been too long. Maybe the guy that owned this SR before you did something similar.

Also, .that is definitely a RWD SR.

Edit: IMHO, you should just get a used black/redtop harness, ECU, coilpack and rewire it to the coil-on-plug setup. May save you a lot of headache.

ya homer thats my plan, i HAVE a good red top harness, but if u look at the picture where the 2 connectors are circled, the red ones are on the redtop harness, and the other 2 are on the motor and they dont plug together. it was swapped like 6 or 7 years ago... by a place in texas. hmmm im stumped. i mean the redtop and blacktop s13 harnesses ARE the same correct? THEN which throttle body do i use, do i need the same one that was on it, because i ahve those other 3. and which ecu do i need, that one that i show the CA one on the back it say it was chipped by jwt for 370 injectors and an s14 maf......sooo pretty weird.

also homer what makes u think its a rwd sr...

Thanks for the help

It has a dizzy? Thats your first sign its not an S-chassis SR. The DET's all came with coil packs, not dizzy's. More than likely its out of a Sunny, or a bluebird.this motor is a SR20DE with a turbo setup ... thats why it has a distributor and the ecu is different ... just use the sr20de tpms on the new tb and slap it on

How do u know? what differences are there? will this motor even hold up? i wnat to pushi it hard so im not going to use it if its not worth my time.....

aslo does the sr20de come with spots on the block for oil and coolant to the turbo or did someone tap out the spots on the block? i dont think someone would go through that trouble. or does that block have the same lines too?

IF its a DE engine - someone drilled places for the water lines... and it has the oil line stuff added too? not likely.

thats im saying.. i NEED TO KNOW like today i want to put the intercooler on and shit and figure out what the F*** to do about the harness... because like i said i want to slide this bitch!

The plugs in your hand are for the IACV and the knock sensor, one of the other circled ones with the "blue/red" wire should be your coil-pack plug for your coil pack. Also, the red/black top harness are the same.

I would suggest that you start looking at "Omikron" wiring thread and start figuring out which plugs correspond to which sensor. Without the wiring color on those plug I can't tell you, and to make it worse I have no idea what kind of clusterfuck job they did the the engine/harness such as swapping out various sensors.

Throttle body, I would use a black/redtop one since you've got a redtop harness already. For the ECU, I would get a "62" or an "E5".

ya homer thats my plan, i HAVE a good red top harness, but if u look at the picture where the 2 connectors are circled, the red ones are on the redtop harness, and the other 2 are on the motor and they dont plug together. it was swapped like 6 or 7 years ago... by a place in texas. hmmm im stumped. i mean the redtop and blacktop s13 harnesses ARE the same correct? to me that looks like a DET motor with a SR DE dizzy, JWT use to make a tune for that...and IIRC its using a sentra ECU or DOHC KA?? that was a long time ago. i dont remember exactly

now if it really is a DET motor, which it looks like it is, you can locate a CAS and coil packs ignitor etc and use ur red-top harness. i would suggest using "62" ECU (red-top, b/c that head has no fins...most likly a red-top motor)

i dont think u can use a dizzy with a DET ECU. i could be wrong on that though.

next thing is contact JWT and detemine if they still offer a tune for using dizzy on RWD SR. and which ECU u need.

I cant see the numbers so type the ECU serial numbers and that should be able to tell which one you got.

PM me if your interested, i have parts off of my Redtop to make your back to COP and an ECU (Blacktop and KA).

Idk much about SRs but i dont think they made a DET with a dizzy, especially blacktop. Or did they...?

dam lots of good advice... i will look into it more when i get home. i have a cas and coil packs, maybe even an extra coil pack harness. and the ecu was tuned by jwt and i know this car was swapped like 5 years ago so it might be one that was swapped with a dizzy from a sr20de,... i will get some better pics of the harness up. thanks for the help everyone

E5 and 62 ecus are interchangeable... either will do if u go that route.

no need to hunt for a 62 if u have a e5

Just noticed that on the wiring harness, the coolant sensor plugs are both missing, im starting to think im having issues with the harness and not the motor.... can anyone tell me if the plugs on the motor circled in green are SUPPOSED to be there, and look like that.... if so that would leave me to believe its my harness and not the motor that is my problem...

Thanks again everyone. im ordering coilpacks, cas, and a new harness most likely as soon as i figure out if thats the problem.

I would help you if my harness wasnt melted

Wanna buy mine coilpacks, cas?

.... can anyone tell me if the plugs on the motor circled in green are SUPPOSED to be there, and look like that....

Take pictures of the plugs with the color of the wires exposed and I'll tell you which sensors they're belong to. Just the other two since I've already identified one for you.

That big plug on the upper right (in green), it looks like your F8 (power) plug, I can't tell without seeing the color of the wires.

ya rex i will take them, i think i need ignitor chip too...

here are those pictures of the harness

http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/rr216/shift_cory/IMG_0121.jpg
These are the 2 on the harness that i can figure out where they go.... the one on the left im stumped doesnt plug into anything, i think the one on the right with 2 wires is for the 02....

here are the 2 that come out of the intake manifold....
http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/rr216/shift_cory/IMG_0125.jpg
http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/rr216/shift_cory/IMG_0127.jpg

and i figure out the sensors for the coolant... they have an other idividual plug for them both to one plug, and then to the harness. so its just these 4 i cant figure out. none of them are the same size, and they dont plug in. but i think i figured the rest of it out. so ya im still not sure if i should try to use this harness, buy a new one. and if this motor is even a RWD sr20 lol.

Thanks for the help!

and just for fun :D

Pic #1: On left, it looks like an F8 power plug. On right with 2 wires, that's the knock sensor plug.

Pic #2: I've never seen colors like that on that type of plug before. May be I'm color blind.

Pic #3: Bottom left corner is the coilpack plug.

and knock sensor?
http://i485.photobucket.com/albums/rr216/shift_cory/IMG_0026.jpg

well thats all of them... i figured out where everything else goes, and i looked at my g/fs sr and the plugs on the harness look the same so i wonder if the redtop and blacktop harnesses are different.... but everyone says no so i dunno. thanks for all the help....

HAha. I love your wiring diagram.

Your Girl has an SR swap??..Is hers faster? Thats koo though, I def like it, looks pretty clean.

You have a wiring diagram? Im guessing its going to be for the early black/redtop

no i dont have a diagram, and ya she rocks the red top, no kids out here in the sticks rock the 240 to often, so she likes it "rare" sorta. and its pretty quick but she kinda gets the hand me downs:ddog:

but ya i dont get why none of the plugs.... plug in together lol, kinda pisses me off i want to get this shit doooone...

thanks again everyone!!!

MmM. I cant find any colors that match your diagram. Basically you have to search engine harnesses to see which one matches yours. But someone on here should be able to chime in with helpful advice.

Shift_Cory

well i KNOW the harness is from a redtop. the only ones i cant figure out are the ones on the motor, just 2 that com out from the iacv area... inside the manifold... connnnfuuussssing
