Hi,
I have an s13 with an rb20det.
I recently purchased a used blitz turbo timer, and a harness was included

I found the place to plug in the 5/6 prong connector, but i cant seem to find where to plug in the 4 prong one.

Iirc, there were 4 wires: black, green, blue, and red.

Since i couldnt find where to plug it in, i just tapped wires:

Black - ground
green - 12 v ignition
blue - accessory
red - 12 v constant

I also grounded the hand brake wire.

I hooked the orange wire up to the speed sensor wire (or what i thought was it).
The only wiring diagram i found (for an rb20det) said the speed sensor wire was #53, and i hooked everything up, and the timer still didnt turn on.

I read somewhere that the speed sensor wire did have to be connected or the turbo timer would not turn on at all.

Is there any way to test if the turbo timer even works?
Any suggestions for me to get this to work?

I guess ill just have to recheck all the wires that i tapped into and make sure they are correct.

Thanks,
Zac

Anyone?

I did a bit more research, and it seems apexi turbo timers need to be wired to the O2 sensor..
Do i wire my blitz timer to the o2 sensor or the speed sensor?

I'd rather not tap a wrong wire and mess anything up.

should try checking the instructions on a hks turbo timer. they have diagrams for what goes where. i used that to help install a blitz timer into a friend s14 w/ sr20.

also did u make sure ur hand brake was up? LOL i ran into that problem my first time.

The orange wire is a safety, it will stop the car if it start moving... try to disconnect it and try it again after!

Alright will go out and do that.

I just checked all my wires.
I had them wired to my radio wires, so i switched them all to ignition wires.

I connected:
red to 12v constant (checked and got 12v with the multimeter at all times)
blue to accessory (got 12v when key was in on position)
green to ignition (got 12v when car was on and when key was in on position)
grounded the black/purple (checked for continuity with ground and there was)

Orange i get 8.29V when the car is off, and 10.0V when the car is on.

Im thinking i have the orange wire tapped to the wrong thing.. ill try and disconnect it and see if it works.

Im still not getting any display on the turbo timer though.

Well ive tried looking at the manual, and as far as i can tell i have it wired up correctly, but still no display..

I tried grounding the orange wire too, but still nothing even on the display.

Any other ideas?

How can i test to see if the timer can even turn on?

Alright, figured it out. Turns out im just retarded.

The guy before me had one of the wires cut, so i didnt see one of the grounds (was underneath the shielding and i assumed that the other ground was the only one..

I had both harnesses wired up, but turns out you only need one...

Thanks for all the help!
