So I have been looking at Security Cameras and there are SO many i'm kinda lost. I already have a cheapo setup with decent DVR & some ebay cameras. There good for daytime recording but the night vision sucks. I want something that takes good high resolution video with about 40-60ft of good night vision. I do not want to spend more then $150 a camera.

What are some good brands IR cameras?
Who sells them for a good price?
Who makes the most bang for the buck?

are you talking about in-car security cams?

I would imagine more like porch or garage mount cameras viewing the vehicle im assuming you are trying to watch.

you cant get quality for 150 a camera. if your on a budget just go to super circuits and get the china stamped special. I really like Pelco products but thats already above what you want to spend. what is this for business or home?

For home use... $150-300 is my limit but cheap is good. Really all I need is 1-2 nice high res w. good night vision to look over my garage & cars. The night vision is all I really car about... With the cheap cams I have right now you can't see anything more then 15ft away in total darkness. Min I want to be able to see 30ft...

I used to work at a surveillance place. We sold and installed awesome things.

940nm Outdoor Black and White 104 LED Surveillance Camera (http://www.surveillance-spy-cameras.com/104-led-night-camera.htm)

best bang for buck. expensive, but you will not regret it. Remember you're protecting assets! invest in their safety.

so from what im noticing so far is that you "own" more than 1 car so that would mean u have a job that should pay a decent living but u only want to spend 150 on a security camera? Honestly if that is the case, you should just get something good so u dont have to "hope" something is to your liking or dont get anything at all. Most of the time the videos are useless because u can NEVER see their faces. Honestly, you will never find what youre looking for in a $150 camera.

get a dog.

If not a dog get a big dog dish and a big bone and place it outside somewhere. That creates a positive illusion, at least until you get a real dog.

motion lights and a pump shotgun is probably the best security setup anyone could ever have.

motion lights and a pump shotgun is probably the best security setup anyone could ever have.

The unmistakable sound of a pump shotgun is a sound that will import a little shock and awe into a prowlers brain. Only thing is you gotta be up and about, awares as opposed to unawares, awake as opposed to being asleep.
