Why do my tail lights and dashboard lights only go on when I brake?

I recently replaced one of the burned out tail lights. Then all of a sudden the interior dashboard lights, lighting on my shifter and brake lights do not light up unless I brake.

Explanations anyone?

You have an electrical short somewhere most likely, good luck finding it. :keke:

The taillight and the dashboard light are connected on the same circuit. So you must have a short between a brake light and a tail light. Or this is a bad ground issue, and the brake light go ground itself on the tail light circuit(but I guess your tail light would be working, so the opposite could be another explaination)

Hey you prob installed the bulb backwards. I did this before, and it caused the same prob. Take the bulb out that you replaced, reverse it and your problem should be fixed.
