View Full Version : Removing front fender liner = rusty door hinges?

After 5-6 months from removing my fender liners to fit my wheels and lower my car, I've noticed that my driver side door hinge makes a great deal of noise opening/closing. I suspect that the fact that the hinge is now exposed to anything the wheel carries up (water, dirt) is clogging up the assembly

I plan on getting some spare fender liner and fixating it in the space to act as a shield. I was wondering if anyone else has run into this problem and what they did (if they did) fix it.

Curiously my passenger side is not making any noise, but it is probably due to the fact that it gets less usage.

wd40 and only cut the top part of the liners and leave the front and back in so you dont get shit in your rocker pannel/ door.

i was thinking about taking apart the door hinge assembly and applying some rust prevention solution on it (after sanding down the metal)
