1. 16x7.5 has the availbile following offsets- +12,+22,+32 which one is best for front/rear?
2.16x8.5 has the availible following offsets: +17,+27,+37 which offset for each front or rear?
3. 17x8 has the available following offsets: +12,+22,+32

these are buddy club p1's by the way

im trying to decide which set up would be best....Could i run 16x8.5 all the way around? what about two 16x7.5 +32's for front and 2 16x8.5's +27 for the rear? imguessing +32 would be the only option for the 17x8's? FOr some reason offset is something i cannot comprehend very well. Thanks alot ahead of time

If you don't mind the staggered sizes, I think 7.5 front and 8.5 rear would be best. Or the 17x8 32 would fit all arround.

It's getting a 8.5 on the front that would be troublesome. Maybe +37 with a spacer, or +27 with rolled fenders.

Do you want to run coilovers, that would further limit your choices.

16x8.5 +27 will FIT with NO problems and NO fender modification!!! Just don't use a wider-than 235/50, 235/45 or 225/50/16 tire.

YOU CAN FIT 9 INCH RIMS IN THE FRONT OF AN S13!!!! My rims: 17x9 +30 fit. I have 215/45/17 tires on ONLY becasue of how low the car will sit and the characteristics of streched sidewalls.

Chit, you can make the 16x8.5 +17's fit with 225/50/16's or 215/55/16's and some healthy negative camber.

Oh no not again. SHOE SHOE GO AWAY.

Yeah I believe you that you could squeeze 235's in the stock fenders. But most people dont put 235s on a 8.5 inch rim and thats a hard tire size to find anyway. I was thinking a mnimum of 245 for any type of normal non-drift setup. With a normal amount of camber, i think that would contact fender.

Shoo you! Haha. 235's all around for drift? I MENTION NOTHING ABOUT DRIFTING! I feel like I am being racially profiled here! I mentioned camber with the +17's and 235's on a 8.5 is a damn good fit. even with 245's it will fit i bet!

Salute your shorts. :D ;) :p

I have 225's 35 offset and there isnt a ton of clearance. About 10mm or so when compressed. I'm sure you could get it to work with negative camber but you can get anything to fit with enough negative camber.

There you go talkin about offset without mentioning width again... tsk tsk. How wide are your rims?

7in. They are also 15 in so they dont really bulge, they go out at an angle. I dont think a wider wheel would make difference.

That IS tire bulge.

Anyway, I was just curious, b/c Slide Squad Mark had 245/45/17's on teh GTR wheels (17x9 +30) before I bought them. He was running coilovers and stock fenders. They fit in front. I would say to be "safe" you could roll the fenders in this guys case, but it should have NO problems fitting.

The man asked a simple question and you're confounding it with your own preferences in wacky setups! DAMNIT!

Of the wheels listed:
16x7.5 +32 is perfect all around.
16x8.5 +27 is OK all around. Good in the back, kind of pointlessly wide for the front (unless you KNOW what you're doing)
17x8 +32 is perfect all around.

I personally don't like staggered setups. Of those I'd go with 16x7.5 +32 all around with a 225/50-16, or 17x8 +32 all around with a 235/40-17. In fact the 16" setup is almost exactly what I'm planning on getting.. except I don't care about pimpy JDM-ness so I'm going to buy them from tire rack for like $180 apiece with Kosei K1 stickers on them. Same wheel.

IN MY OPINION, unless you have a specific need to do it (i.e. you KNOW what you're doing):
Don't stagger
Don't run really low offsets that require camber to fit
Don't buy big wide wheels then put skinny-azz tires on them

I WAS going to ask why you assume he doesn't know what he is doing, but then I realize that he IS asking this question. :o :p

Anyway, I still think that Duffman needs to salute his shorts.:p :D

Yeah, see above statement about negative camber.

I remember a long time ago, there was a buddy club P1 group buy and asad (i think it was asad) had to get his 16x7.5 wheels machined down from +22 to like +26 to clear. But all asad's posts on freshalloy are gone so I cant find it. I'm guess mark has at least a decent amount of negative camber to clear.

Nope, Mark's car had pretty stock camber. His car was lowered, but not TOO low.

Im still trying to decide the route for suspension, id always like to say im going with coilovers(probably jic flt-a2's if that does happen) but money isnt on its best behavior around me so im considering the whiteline with agx combo from pdm

Haha, I just realized there are like 3 threads like this on freshalloy. Some things never change.

They're no longer an "in stock" item. But, they do carry all the widths and offsets and can drill them to any bolt pattern necessary. Talk to Luke at tirerack, his contact info is listed in the freshalloy wheel and tire forum.

As a general rule, yes, but in his case, none of the sizes he presented have any coilover clearance issues.
