an HKS is $130. are there major differences between the two?

I've never used an HKS, or even looked at one in person. Judging by the pictures I've seen, the HKS is only adjustable via the threaded actuator arm. This one has the threaded arm, and in addition, you can disassemble it and replace the spring for different base boost pressures. Forge sells four different springs for this thing (you can check it out on their website) and I'm including two as stated above.
This particular unit also had the regular vacuum nipple removed, and was tapped (I think it's 1/8 NPT) so you can install whatever fitting you want. I didn't mention it but the vacuum barb I'm including is an Earl's or Aeroquip part, not sure (it's blue). Fits the factory vacuum hose, but you could add an AN fitting or whatever you want.
