Hey guys i just got my first 240 with a sr20 and i had a guy hook up my intercooler and put a BOV on but from all the pics or vids i've seen the BOV is on the same side as the turbo. so is this bad?

Some people say closer to the turbo, some say closer to the TB. W/e floats your boat i guess. But SR's dont realy like vent to atmosphere BOVs anyways.

no car with a MAF really likes an atmoshpehic venting BOV but it should still operate fine

That is true, and i know that. I only stated that b/c he might be the kind of person that want's a BOV for the sound and dosent know anything else, but I could be wrong :). The car will run a bit rich after shifting and the revs might go a bit down after getting in boost and stopping. Again, nothing serious.

If the car is left hand drive the BOV should be on the left. If the car is RHD it doesnt matter because the BOV works the same regardless of which side of the IC it is on.

Dont mess with this guy ^ he know Rocket Science!

it really doesnt matter witch side you put it on. ive had it on the cold side and the hot side. its just a matter of preference. but like the others are saying, if you have a MAF then recirculate it because some times it will let out too much and stall the engine.

its preference.

i guess one positive of having the BOV on the cold side is that your vac line would be shorter

Just be sure it's not too close to the blinker fluid reservoir.

from what i've heard being on the cold side gives you more response from the blow off valve
