I want to cancel my hicas. And I was wondering if it is true that I can keep my rear subframe and just use a non hicas toe rods and spindles. Is there anything else that is different other than that? thanks.

I converted to non-HICAS subframe a few years ago. IIRC, you cannot use your HICAS subframe. The mounting tabs for the tie rods on the subframe are not there for the HICAS one. It would be easiest if you could completely swap out the rear end, arms, spindles and all. That was what I did.

Also, if you have ABS, your diff and/or driveshaft might need to be swapped too. The ABS sensor is on the front of the diff, making it a touch longer.

Good luck :squintd:

I ended up swapping the entire subframe. So I don't know what all you would have to swap without doing the whole thing.

If you want a HICAS delete bar, I have one with low mileage tie rods and ends. Just PM me if you are interested.

Its pretty easy to swap a a whole rear subframe, Its 4 17mm nuts plus the 2 12mm for the bracket up front. cost you you about 150 the whole rear end. You will be surprised how easy it is to swap . Although sometimes the bushings get stuck to the studs on the chassis. Good luck.
