Looking at space is just insane, its like literally looking into the past. I took a course called history of physics, and my professor was really passionate about astronomy.

I got really into just observing the skies cause of that class. Bought my nephew a telescope and I was just amazed to see the craters on the moon just like Galileo. Its trippy just thinking about that stuff.

I always wanted a telescope as a kid... space always fascinated me, with it's immensity. It's a beautiful thing. I still want one but damn they're pricey...

Sometimes i just trip out on trying to comprehend how huge the universe is.

It's crazy that when you see something in space, like a star exploding, it actually happened some light years ago, the light
just barely reached Earth.

I wish I thought about these things, instead I end up wondering about stuff like what Burt Reynolds life was like in the late 70's/early 80's.

You could just use it to spy on your neighbors.

haha i wish

lens is too powerful to see anything that isnt in the sky

i have the binoculars for that :bowrofl:

its been a while i will have to look at which one it is

it has some crazy gps system built into it... it can automatically goto coordinates

I'm really into staring at the moon when it's full.

But my eyes aren't that great.

A telescope would be cool.

I am always contemplating on whether i should buy a high power telescope or buy more stuff for the car. Car always came first, but i think i am going to save and buy one soon. I was thinking of this one Meade Instruments Corporation - LightBridge Truss Tube Dobsonians (http://www.meade.com/lightbridge/index.html). The deluxe one.

its either, bigger injectors, maf, and stand alone + tune for the car, or telescope.

I'm actually taking a really cool class this quarter called "The Universe in 10 Weeks." Basically it's an astronomy course, and I've been learning some really trippy shit about the universe. It truly is really amazing.

i break out the telescope every once in a while ESPECIALLY when Saturn is in view. Through a decent telescope you can see its rings. It's only 4 billion miles away.

btw, SPACE.com -- NightSky (http://www.space.com/nightsky/) is my resource. it has tech articles talking about the magnifaction/length/diameter of telescopes and how it efffects the telescope as well as a monthly "skymap" of different astronomical events and things you can see each month.

years ago, we would watch the Shuttle and various satellites pass over. That was pretty fun that you could see them with the naked eye.

+1 I love space.com great site. I was never really into space, as you couldn't see much where I live by the city. That was until I was at boot camp at at Fort Lost in the Woods (leonard wood). I remember stepping out of the tent in the middle of a clear night to take a piss and was in awe when I looked up at the sky. I couldn't believe how many stars there were. They completely filled the sky. People who live in or around a city really have no clue what the night sky really looks like. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_pollution

Everything about space when you think about it is fucking mind blowing.

This is a pretty good FAQ on telescopes. http://www.astronomytoday.com/astronomy/tbfaq.html

I would love to have this http://www.telescopes.com/telescopes/catadioptric-telescopes/celestronnexstar8se.cfm
