My driver window crapped out today and I'm certain it's the black box. I don't have any way of fixing it at this time on a Sunday, so I was wondering if there is anyway of getting the window up manually for the time being till I can fix the problem?

I own an R33, but it sounds like it's all the same general mechanics as the S chassis.

Any help on the asap would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry to bring up an old thread but I have the exact same problem and it's going to be raining all next week :-/. Does anyone have a way to roll the window back up with a bad motor?

I say bad motor because I tested the wires going directly to the motor and they are getting voltage when the switch is used, the window just doesn't move.

take the motor out. pull the window up, then put motor back in maybe.

i've installed my window a few weeks ago you can try two of the things....

take off door panel by unsrewing your door handle, gently pry off switches/control panel and take off harness, pry off door lever, pry off the tabs that cover the screws on the door panel

take off door panel, once it is off you'll notice a protective film, peel that off

the window sits on two rails (one which is powered to move the window up and down)

and here is where it depends on your situation.

1) push up the window from the bottom and guide it through the top when you can

or

2) on my car (s13) metal trim outside of door where the window is that can be removed by taken off a screw or two i believe and prying that off as well to give you a good clearance for what comes next

unbolt the two rails and basically have someone help you wiggle/pull it out and watch for the window's round metal stoppers
then set it somewhere clean (i.e. cardboard) as there is grease along side the rails and you can reset the height of the window for your needs and just work in reverse order afterward

there are also metal plates that hold your window is place and can be unbolted as well so you can manually adjust them better
