Hey guys
I'm in a middle of a HICAS removal, pretty much all the work is complete. Converted the Pump to a 2wheel steering and the none HICAS subframe is in. the only problem is im pretty much confused about the rear knuckle. in HICAS models instead of a bushing for the toe they use a ball joint for the knuckle. The ball joint is pressed out already.
My question is, is the rear knuckles all the same whether its 2wheel or 4wheels ? i dunno if Nissan gave me the wrong part but the bushing is to small for the inside diameter to be pushed in. i need some insight if i should buy new rear knuckles from a 2wheel car or go back to the dealer and get new bushings.

if anyone done the conversion help me out please i really appreciate it.

i guess no one knows =(
ill hit up the dealer and try again on the bushing, hopefully this time they get it right. if not then im screwed and gotta go to the junkyard and find a rear knuckle >.<

check to see if the part numbers on the knuckles are the same for hicas and nonhicas cars, if it is then you shouldnt have a problem just press it in?

it should be the same as the toe/traction from a non-hicas model... since the part numbers are all the same.

maybe im missreading your post but if your doing a non hicas conversion the rear spindles will not work with the non hicas toe rods.

i recently did the same swap and had to swap out the subframe as well as the rear hubs and source out a set of toe rods.

True, but you can press the ball joint out of the upright and replace it with a bushing, making it a non HICAS upright. A bit more work, but at least you end up with a brand new pair of bushings somewhere.

i think that's exactly what mellos13 is about to do since he just ordered those traction bushings.

if you use the Kazama Auto HICAS Stopper Rod 240SX '89-'94 (http://www.projectnissan.com/shopping/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=272&idproduct=3959) wouldnt it be the same as removing the whole thing?? or atleast similar in control, if you were to remove the entire back end 2 a non hicas?? bc i want to drift/auto x my hicas 91 240.
