Favorite video games of all time?

I noticed a couple threads with video games on 'em so i was just wondering.

here are my five:
1.Gran Turismo series
2.Resident Evil series
3.Metal Gear Solid series
4.Tony Hawks Pro-Skater series
5.Need 4 Speed series

wow all series, that dont mean all in the series but at least two in the series.

Overall:
GT1&3, (i guess 1 cuz it was the one that started it all)
RE2 (scared the sh it outta me when i played it at night)
MGS (bad-ass game)
THPS1 (I remeber the first time i did the holy-sh it grind)
N4S the hot-pursuits (running from the cops just like in real-life)j/k

amazing how i still play all of them and i never get tired of them.

Need for speed series may be my favorite for games that I can still walk into the other room and play, I have all of them. I like GT also, but I had need for speed games first, you know? For games that I CAN'T just waltz in and play anymore, it has to be contra for the 8-bit nintendo. Something about the B&G for no reason in that game made it one of my permanent faves, and I haven't played it for at least 10 years now.

I have been playing Final Fantasy X for about the last week now and I have just about deemed it impossible to beat, do to the fact thats its so long.

I liked Tokyo Extreme Racer Zero too just cause it is one of the few games that you can up grade your car and actually see it on your car like up graded exhausts and wheels and body and wings and stuff pretty cool.

The first Dragon Warrior for the NES
Zelda Seris, except the second one, I hated it :o
SimCity Seris, hours of fun there.

Mario Bros 2 n 3 and 64 (i saved up alot of allowance for #3 when it came out)

Yes FFT was such a cool game one of my all time favs. I also like all the final fantasy's too.

I am not going to mention anything from pre sega and super nintendo, cuz there are sooo mnay good games.
For PS1 and up:

Driving Games: GT3, I find myself playing it every now and then, even though I never beat it, I will always be able to play it, and if GT4 had the amount of cars GT2 had and online it would be the best game of all time.
Fighting: Not really fan of fighting games but I love Tekken, and Soul Calibur
Entire GTA series, gets better every time
Sports: NBA 2K3 and NFL 2K3
Splinter Cell
Golden Eye for N64
The first Zelda for 64
Thats all I can think of for now.

Yeah the Final Fantasy Series is great. I am happy that they are remaking Part 1 for the Playstation as Final Fantasy Origins. Lots of nostalgia. Never beat part 2 and 3 though due to translation issues. :rolleyes:

Anyone liked the Shining Force Series?

Videogames rock, too bad consoles are killing the arcade scene. But I think it will be replaced by online gaming.

Top Gear 2, Street Fighter II, Donkey Kong Country, Doom and Doom 64, Top Gear Rally, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, The World is Not Enough, Mario Kart, Vortex. Those were my favorites for Super Nintendo and N64.

For Game Cube, Metroid Prime one of the best games ever, 007 Nightfire, Time Splitters 2.

For Playstation 1 and 2, that one series of games where you can fix up the cars and race, ah yes, Grand Turismo 1, 2, 3 :D :D :D

GT2 is sooooo much better than gt3, except in graphics.
1) gt2 has way more cars, it has used cars too.
2) gt2 seems to play faster than gt3. in gt3, id be going 100mph but it felt like 50mph.
3) in gt3 u can only win the prize cars once. :mad: i have no idea why they put that limit in.
4) theres more reasons but i cant think of them all right now hehe

ANYWAY.....back to the topic

5. street fighter series - my thumbs should get a medal just for surviving through the countless hours spent on these games

7. Counter Strike - i dont know if PC games count but this surely takes a big chunk of my time these days hehehe.
