View Full Version : rb26dett timing..
i have replaced my AFM's and injectors and that fixed most of my lower to mid range power loss but i recently check my timing and im sitting a 30 BTDC and should be at 20. well i retarded the timing as far as i could but cant turn it past the 25 degree timing mark, is 5 degrees advanced enough to suffer power loss mid to high power range? also once i hit 6000 to 6500 rpm it kinda pops or back fires.http://i81.photobucket.com/albums/j232/hornet2005/100_0622.jpg

yup, changing timing drastically changes how rbs perform. how are you checking timing and how are you adjusting it?

i adjusted my CAS clockwise to retarded it , but im maxed out in the center of my CAS i can go full counter clockwise but thats advanceing it to 30 again, but i can only turn it a tad bit past half way turning my CAS clockwise which is why im thinking i need to reset my timing belt. what do you think? maybe it jumped a tooth or two?

good place to start. before you do that make sure your CAS is installed properly. i was having this problem because the alignment key on my camshaft broke off. so now i have to be very precise when installing my CAS.
also you are checking timing with a light getting the signal from the loop on the coilpack wiring right?
