Well i may be buying a dart izumi for a s14 soon but the seller does not know if it is a dart izumi or not he siad they told him it was when he bought the car with it. I saw one pic of it still on the car and it looks like it but im not 100% sure if it is or not. That being said how can i make sure it is or not real dart izumi?????

I will post pics of it once he sends me them of the exhaust off the car.

It looks to be legit from what I can tell. I haven't heard of any knockoffs of this style mass produced until the recent ISIS, but even that doesn't have the slightly upturned tips.

The dart izumi also comes coated on the "midpipe" area like the picture of yours is. Its basically for a rust protection because they use a mild steel there.

I'm no expert on these things, but I'm sure others will chime in.

there were a couple versions.
One was all stainless. One was just like the one you posted. One had a muffler in the piping.

As far as I know, there were no markings on the exhaust.

A lot of shops sold very similar (if not the same) style exhausts.

Like forum said, the Dart izumis had the slightly bent tips (like yours) and from what I can tell, most of the small shop specials did NOT have the bend.

P.S. I wouldn't spend more than 300 on it.

That one up there is the "lower" grade one.

They were only like $300 when new...

iirc the izumi had a built in test pipe. like it was one piece all the way up to where it bolts to the downpipe.

Did a quick search in the FS section and turned up these for comparison:

Not saying to buy them, just as a useful point of comparison.

Looks legit to me. Although I have the s13 version, which isn't much different. Same bends at the tips, as yours. Except mines is in perfect condition, and that I paid a lot more than you did. :tardrim:
