Hi, I just purchased a used Greddy oil pan from a member in here which I have dealt with before (legit guy). However, with the copies and knockoffs floating around in the market right now, I'm afraid that I may have bought a knockoff too.

Grabbed a pic from Greddy and this is how mine looks like: (It is not the newer version w/ circle inprinted at the center, and no "Greddy" word at the bottom)

This is how my baffle plates look like: (It has the word "Takigen" printed on it)

The knockoff from ebay: (no Takigen word on baffle plate)

I'm quite frustrated with all those knockoffs nowaday. I'm not even sure if mine is real of not. The aluminum casting on mine can't be said flawless, but it does has "SR20" printed in front and "Trust" printed on bottom. What you say?

if trust is printed on it, it is more then likely a greddy oilpan...

I recommend the Tomei pan, honestly.

It is much more solid and worth the money and they wont strip

...and I even own the Greddy

I am trying to suggest you sell your knock off pan and get a Tomei.

come'on dude I know you understand what I am trying to say.

If you are not sure you probably bought a rip off pan, THEY LEAK THROUGH THE PORES OF THE PAN after you break them in a bit.

Also the threads are very jagged and not very clean.

I am one of the most experienced on her if you want to SHIT all over my advice I won't provide it anymore and you can all waste you money on shitty useless hyped of garbage

chill out mate, I really appreciate your help especially with your expertise on the SR motor.

However, the meaning of this thread is to help me identify a knockoff oil pan with the information I provided. As the first reply, Ceepo said if there is a "Trust" printed on the bottom, it would be most likely an authentic one. Any other inputs?

Here is how mine looks like: (should've put it sooner)

bought from: yaba94070

As for the down side of kockoffs, I do know that they prone to crack, leak and bad fitment. And Greddy seems good to me due to the price and my plan for the motor: It is primarily using as DD w/ stock boost, and occasion autox and track. I think, with an oil cooler, a REAL oversized Greddy oil pan is satisfied with my need.

Hard to tell. Call GReddy and send someone an email with the pic. They would know best.

Why would you think that is a knockoff. Those knockoff companies would get sued like crazy if they put the trust name into the casting.

And you shouldn't bash on steve for getting off topic. He's just trying to give you some advice on what he has experienced. It kinda sucks because not too long after I bought my greddy pan, I saw that phase2motortrend dropped their price on tomei pans to only 309. Thats not too bad. The thing is that those knockoff tomei ones on ebay look exactly like it.

Yeah, that's the thing with the knockoffs - they CAN'T put the original name on the product they are knocking off - that's why there are Greedy oil pans and Greedy "Type T" BOV's and such. If it has the Trust logo on the pan, I'd be pretty confident it's original Greddy. If you have any doubts, email those pictures to Greddy and ask for confirmation.
