View Full Version : Wide fenders in the rear only. Thoughts?

I'm going to be doing a complete overhaul of the exterior of my s13 coupe in the coming months. I know I am for sure doing wide fenders in the rear (chargespeed style) but I am thinking about not doing the wide front fenders and just rolling them instead. This is because A) I'm not a huge fan of the vent in the fender, I'm going for a really clean look, and B) saves me some money.

So I was wondering what everyone's thoughts on this are. Do you think it will not look proportional with the wide rear and narrower front? etc...

Also are there any wide fenders that don't use the vents and that don't stick out when the meet the door? I found this picture and it appears to be the case.

Thanks.

the vents cover them over with fiber glass

it will look good if you get the 30mil and not the 50mil in the rear otherwise it will look like your missing the fronts and you can always just fg over the vents

I like the idea of fiberglassing the vents so they are flush and flow with the fender.

What are some of the cheaper wide front fenders? I'm guessing the really cheap ones that vendors on the forums sell don't have the best fitment? That's another fear of mine because I see alot of wide front fenders that don't seem to fit well and make silvia headlights all cockeyed.

dont buy ceap fenders unless you expect crashing you car sometime soon because youll hate looking at your car and not seeing everthing line up trust me i've gone the cheap route and now i'm paying twice as much because now i'm fixing what i should have done right the first time

Which manufacturers have good fitment? I'm guessing Chargespeed? Origin maybe? Version Select?

Why do you need wide fenders anyway?

Quality manufacturers have been discussed quite a few times on Zilvia. Search around, you'll find plenty of input on the matter.

30mm wide fenders out back with stock fenders up front won't look too bad. I mean, if you look at an S13 from a front view (especially if you're standing a few feet off the ground), the front end looks wider than the rear anyway, so 30mm rears should look okay.

It will look bad. I have full wide body.

The rear sticks out to much to not have the front match.

Work VS-XX

Do Work VS-XX only come in one size that require wide fenders to fit properly?

I know it's a tough economy, but cutting down there lineup like that sounds like a bad business move.

We should ask ex-A Spec Logan.

since the fender sticks out so far, it catches alot more air.
The hole keeps the tension off the fender by releasing air.
