Hi, I'm at the stage of assempling everything back together on my SR swap. As recommended by a lot of members, now is a good time to change out all the rubber hoses. However, I'm not too sure about what rubber hoses/vacuum lines to use and where to buy them.

I've heard the best way is to take the old hoses to Kragen/Autozone, then cut it to my desired length. Are these hoses in local store having the same quality as the factory Nissan ones?

There are basically three jobs for the hoses: delivering air, oil and water. Are the hoses for each of the jobs using different material or it is the same rubber hose/vacuum line that does all the job?

Lastly, there are hoses like the heater hoses that has a "S" shape, do I have to get factory "S" hoses for it or I can just bent a universal hose?

Thanks!

Don't forget PS & gas lines too.
And YES THEY ARE different!
And YES SOME will be OEM only.
FSM FTW!!

for power steering i would use a steel braided line...
for radiator, something like samco hoses...
vacuum lines and certain fluid lines can be bought at any auto parts store...
certain specially shaped hoses and lines must be OEM, i recommend looking it up online, or try using mynismo.com or thenismoshop.com

good luck with changing everything out...
I'm going to have to change out my 19+ year old hoses soon as well...lol

oh another tip, trying routing some of the vacuum lines through manifolds and such to make the engine look cleaner. just be sure it's not in the way of any moving parts or heated areas.
