I checked the error code my car was throwing and it was 84 - automatic trans to fuel injection communication, anyone ever have that before? know what the problem might be? i tried to reset the check engine light also, and it didn't work.......any suggestions?

check items - *harness or connectors(the communication line is open or shorted) *dead(weak) battery *a/t control unit

have you reset the ecu by turning the screw in the back of the ecu? thats the way i reset it all the time.

yeah i did that, but in the instructions i got, they were done with the car on, is that the right way to do it?

Yes, do it with the key at the "ON" position, but not with the car running. Does that make any sense?

Wow--how odd. I reset mine w/ the car off and it reset fine. I would think that if your car was running, it would keep throwing that code to the ECU, making it impossible to clear it out with the car running. It should work w/ the car off, but they key at the "ON" position. Lemme know if it works or not. Good luck!
You'll probably get the code again until you change your battery, though. I hope it's the battery and not the a/t control unit.

You don't have your S14 anymore? Did I miss something? I knew you got the Maxima (I looooove Maximas! :D), but I thought it was for a daily driver & you still had your 240sx.......
I know your sig says your S14 is for sale, but a lot of us forget to change our sigs when stuff changes.......so I wasn't sure if you sold it or not

oh i still have it right now, got a great deal on a max, took it, bc i have pretty much had it with this car, being an auto, and being slow, and having little nagging problems.... saw this max, 5 speed, 92,000 miles, test drove it ran like it was BRAND new.... askin price $7500... blue book .... was 9k, definately a good value and worth it considering the condition, all it needed was a new battery, and a moon roof re-build, which is a common prob on max's, my bro has a max, auto, with a full suspension, and its not bad, definately no RWD handling, but very nice for what it is, plus its fassssssst i love chirping second when i drive hard, and STILL getting 24 mpg lol, so there ya go :) ......... but i will one day have a 240... and it will be Forced induction, one way or another, and it will be an s-14
