I have an S14 shell I got from a friend after he wrecked it. It won't start cause its not getting fuel. Fuel pump isn't coming on. It's not wrecked badly at all, so I don't think there are any shorted/pinched wires. The airbags didn't go off, either. Does the 240sx have an inertia switch to keep the fuel pump from coming on in a wreck? If so, is that the little thing on the radiator support that I've never known the use of? The one in this pic? WTF is this thing?

I always thought it was some kind of temp sensor. I had it unplugged for a while on my car and didnt notice anything different.

Bah. Fuck. Gotta check the relay I guess. Shit that means I gotta find my multimeter.

i believe its the ambient temperature sensor (see S14 fsm pg EL-258)

It's the Ambient air temperature sensor for the AC system. Used to determine what fan speed to use on the electric fan.

The Horn is the other connector on that lead. I noticed it wasn't connected.

Eh. Don't care about the horn.
Another question. How long would a car have to sit up (with possibly little fuel in the tank) before I would have to worry about the fuel pump not working... Everything checked out fine in the electronic side of things as far as I could tell. I mean, I was getting voltage at the pump's connector.
So it's either the pump, no fuel in the tank, or no fuel in the tank which caused the pump to go bad.

So it's either the pump, no fuel in the tank, or no fuel in the tank which caused the pump to go bad.
When you cycle the key to "on" you should have power to the pump for a couple second to prime it. You should be able to hear this if you put your ear to the tank. If you don't hear it, and you know you have power to it, then you need a pump man. Walbros are practically cheaper then OEM and WAY more awesome , pick one of those up. Of course... you SHOULD put gas in the tank...

Heh heh. I got it to work. My dumb ass didn't check the fuse. It wasn't blown... it just wasn't there. Shoulda been the first thing to check, but then again, how often do you pull the pump fuse? To relieve the system pressure, and that's about it. I'm a dumbass lol. I did, however, put the fuel sender back in it's rightful spot so now it correctly reads the tank level. Score. lol.

lol awesome. Don't you love it when that happens. After my engine swap, I went to crank it over for the first time and it didn't fire. I was about to pull my hair out when I noticed the ECU wasn't plugged in lol! It fired right up after that. i was like THANK JEBUS!
