I bought a new wiring harness for my red top and I'm following the FRSport.com directions, however; I have found my previous wiring harness ( which was a chopped up redtop oem harness) is wiring a little differently. FRSport.com claims you need to cut the connector ( the two near the bat. front right) off your KA harness and match the colors up they give you. Well my OLD harness isn't cut at these two connectors with anything spliced, insted it's repined. But I dont trust my old harness to use it as the repin diagram. So I need to know What wire colors need to go in what pin hole one both connectors. Here are pics of the two connectors I am talking about.

here are the two plugs on my old harness re-pined

Also there is a resistor connected to a plug that is supposed to be unused. here is a pic and can anyone tell me why this is?

I'm fucking lost.
you have what car?
this engine harness is for a redtop, we got that.
what's the redtop going into?
kind of important?

That resistor plug is a test port for checking timing/rpm using a certain tool. It shows it right in the service manual. Not needed.

OOHHHH ok. SO did they come with a 75K Ohm resistor?
The red top harness is going into an s13, sorry i assumed you all would consider it going into an s13....
These two connectors go to the front right engine bay and connect to the body harness I do believe. Its the "last step" in the frsport manual...
The reason I dont have the KA plugs is because I'm taking out the SR20 harness that has been cut and installing a new.

So why don't you trust your old harness as a guide to redo the new one?
The colors all match up the same as it would on the new one, just repin it.

Because in the second pic the connector has a black/red wire with a blue and red stripped wire spliced into it.
In the third pic you can see a green with yellow stripe wire. Well it has a black and yellow wiring soldered there.
Just wondering if anyone can give me an idea if this is right or not??

I thought you were using the FRSPORT giude? Should be able to figure it out from that.
Blue/Red and Black/Red are fine together. That's +12V switched.
The other plug looks fine too. Not sure about the Black/Yellow tied into the AC though. That should be IACV power... so prob just +12V switched as well.

ok here is what is hooked up on the old harness and what isnt
SR Wire ColorKA Wire ColorFunctionBlack / Pink stripe Black / Pink stripe Fuel pump relay Green / Orange stripe Green / Orange stripe Transmission neutral switch Red / Black stripe Red / Black stripe ECU relay Green / Yellow stripe Green / Yellow stripe* AC relay Black / White stripe Black / White stripe ECU power Blue / Green stripe Blue / Green stripe AC relay Black / Yellow stripe Black / Yellow stripe Idle air control solenoid power BrownAny +12V Switched** O2 sensor power RedRedECU backup power Black / Red
Blue / RedBlack / Red stripe Main ignition power
So after looking at what wires I have hooked up and what wires I dont have hooked up I realized that I'm only missing the AC relay wires hooked up. So I'm going to assume that my old harness is pinned correctly.
About the IACV wire... That wire is pinned on the LARGE GRAY connector but pined in the small brown connector on my old harness (spiced into the green yellow wire). So it all makes sense now...
