RB25 Swap Finished

Hey guys I've been working on my car for about a month now and im done with the engine swap. I had an SR blacktop that was in shit condition. I blew the turbo and then replaced it and it never started again due to some shitty wiring. Whoever did the swap on this car did the worst job i have ever seen. So me and my friend have never done a swap before and we got the Rb in no problem.

Just finished my setup... sortof.. 440whp 370tq... 20lb and a conservative tune.. spool is instant with the little turbo i have... Next mod is bigger turbo, solid lifters and valve springs.. I do not plan on building motor until I blow it.... If it does indeed "blow"

what turbo are u using opponheimer?

It is just the stock turbo. I'm getting the steel braided lines pretty soon so it's gonna look super clean. Once i get it registered in AZ i'm not gonna have to worry a whole lot about REF's. I think

Plan on getting a RB25 in about 3-6 months. Never done a swap but im gonna get some friends to help me out. Any advice you would give would be great. Also where did you get your RB from?

I had never done one before either. make sure that you leave your mounts a little loose when you start dropping the engine in. It gives a little room for play to get everything aligned. Then you can tighten everything after. We tightened the hell out of the mounts so when we tried to get everything aligned we had to force everything. Didn't learn this until we were done.

The engine is the only beautiful thing on the car. My suspension is shit right now. I was hauling ass down the street and when i started braking the body roll was so rediculous i started losing control. Shit is scary. i really wish i had done my suspension before. I have these in my backyard waiting for rubber and My nismo seat upstairs that i'm using for my gaming seat.

Good job man. And yeah, I feel you on the suspension.

Wheel hop and traction scared me when I raced a 7-series in my RB25. The next week I ordered Tokico hp's and some Pdm-racing springs. Much better :D

Luckily I already had a rear strut bar and front/rear sways.

Way to go man you went the right route. I wish i would of just wemt RB in the beginning of my project. For the amount i have spent to get 350hp out of my SR i cou0ld of made that easy off the RB for the same amount, not mention if you really wanna get crazy 700-1000hp is not that far away for these motors. Nicely done.

I got some McKinney mounts. I would love to get in the 500's. But that suspension is WAY more important right now.

Who did your wiring and what did they charge? Was it plug/play, or is it ghetto?

I only ask because I do Sr/RB/etc wiring and I think I'm cheaper than most, and a trained Electronics Tech.

I actually did all the wiring myself. I was really scared at first because i didnt' want to fry the ecu. Eventually i got tired of waiting so i just started to plug and play. There were still like nine plugs that i couldnt' find that fit and when my friend came over he was telling me that they didn't plug into my car that they were for the skyline. The only problem that i had was i plugged a ground to the positive. hahaha but pretty much we were flawless.
