Anyone have a foreman grill, that smells really bad, or makes you house smell? i am pretty sure its where the smell is coming from, i just want to know if anyone else has encountered it, i dunno if the grease can get stuck inside or how to clean it.... other than wipe off the grill plate...

I had the XL. Which is awesome btw. How the eff did you manage to get grease inside it? It's supposed to slide down into the convenient grease tray.
edit: post 999. gonna save 1000 for something special :P

Some models, you can't take the plate off. If it's in the sink, make sure you aren't submerging it--bad for the element; The old ones, the grease drips and some of it gets left behind on the bottom of the grill. Try cleaning around that area with a brush or something.

I have the fixed one too, is a PITA to clean, all you can use is that scraper thing they give you so you don't mess up the coating.

I used a GFG grill while I was living in the barracks.
They're definitely not as good as a pan, but they get the job done.
To clean, I usually just let mine cool off and then wiped it down with a paper towel or soapy cloth.
Never had any problems with smell.

Sounds like you got some fat/grease inside the grill. I have no clue what to do for that. As far as cleaning the heating surfaces/plate, just let the grill get nice and hot and use a wet rag to wipe it down. I've had 3 variations of the Foreman, never had the smell problem unless I didnt clean it well for several times.

It didn't get cleaned well a couple times, unless my girlfriend cleans it, after she uses it, I am going to open it up with some tools see what's inside
