i wanted a s15 optional momo steering wheel forever, but its just a dream now :( I wanted to know what was out there that could fit an s14 that was oem. Some of the spec v sentra wheels look nice as well as the altima and are easy to find for cheap. Any opinions?

Nissan Maxima wheel in S13, should work in your S14 I'd think, might even be able to make the air bag functional in an S14. It was around a 2000 Maxima or so. There was cutting of plastic and light mucking about involved to get the turns signals to turn off like stock, not bad though.

^^ that wheel was my vote. I have one that i use in my vert sometimes. Its bigger then a factory s13 wheel so it will hit your legs, but it feels great since its real leather.
Hmm, any ideas if the wheels from the 280z's work?

The Maxima wheel is very similar anyway to one of the JDM S14 wheels that was offered. I looked at a 350Z wheel too, didn't seem like much work and you could add audio controls if you were really slick.
I also love the Nardi wheel with airbag in the 2000-2002 era Miata. That thing is gorgeous.

i would just buy a NARDI or Personal or any aftermarket wheel instead of spending money on something that is still oem IMO!!!

the Momo wheel was an S14 option, which i had at one point, but couldn't figure out how to get the cruise to work with it. for the record, the airbag works, even though the light blinks.
there's the S15 wheel (which i have, with cruise integrated). i would imagine the airbag would work, though i haven't seen any evidence to say one way or the other.
if i wasn't making regular 3-4 hr drives, i probably would have kept the S14 momo. it's pretty nice.

see the nardi emblem at the bottom?
the older miatas had a nardi emblem in the center instead of the giant mazda emblem.
just couldn't find a pic. the same wheels came on the jdm late-model FD's. red stitching, and other cool shit.
EDIT: got it

Oh man, i might just pick up a miata now just for that steering wheel. damn! i'm looking at probably the R33 steering wheel as OEM replacement...it's considered OEM, but JDM OEM lol...

^ That's it. I love the Miata wheel. When they came out I called the dealer for the hell of it, I think the base wheel without a bag was like $900 something. The bag was easily another grand. I peed a little and hung up the phone.

fuck that wheel sucked, i removed it from my `00 miata and sold it for $250. i am currently running this:

much better than that un-leather factory airbag POS.

I actually agree. I picked up a Miata Nardi to use in my daily-driver Protege, and while it's 100x better than the stock Protege wheel (non-leather and sucky), the Miata wheel isn't that great. I often wish the rim was fatter, and the leather seems to be of low-to-mid quality. The leather on stock Nissan wheels I've used in the past (R32 GTR, Sentra SE-R) was much nicer.
The Miata wheel was cheap, and it's my daily, so I don't care that much, but I wouldn't try to put it in my 240. The GTR wheel was very nice, but a bit too big; I sold it because I kept bumping my knees on it. I'm still rolling with a Momo-type wheel, and I hope to try an S15 wheel sometime.

that personal wheel that eddie posted is almost identical the momo monte carlo, i had that wheel for like 10 years now. i like both nardi and momo, some of the momo stuff can be pretty cheesy - you really dont need more than the basics.

i am currently trying to decide what i will run in my s13, ive narrowed it down to either an R32 GTR wheel or the momo prototipo.

Good job on the steering wheel swap! Are you still able to use the horn or the cruise control buttons when you switched? If so, how did you do it? I'm trying to do the same swap on my s13, but I'm new to this.

+1000, these also came on the kouki S14 Silvias as well as 180SXs. This is the only steering wheel that I want, don't care if the Maxima one is similar. I want something that was intended for the S14 chassis. Too bad they don't appear on eBay too often now, and even then you still have to weed through all those other horrific wheels. I'll snatch one when I have the opportunity, though.
F*** aftermarket steering wheels btw, shit looks retarded.

That is a very rare Momo Bennetton steering wheel. Bennetton's F1 cars had a similar livery and those things are fucking awesome. They also had a matching shift knob.
