what are the limitations if any for getting a 6spd transmission from something like those S15 Spec-R's from japan to replace the stock 5spd in american 240's?

What do you mean? Are you asking how much power can it hold?

If you want an S15 6spd unit you'll need to cut/weld the bellhousing. The engine blocks between SR and KA are completely different.

We have a search function which covers this remedial stuff.

Plus the fact that you wont have a speedo since the sensor is in the diff, not in the tranny.

i believe also, anything above ~400 hp is dangerous to the 6spd...not sure though since i don't have one but i'm sure that's what i read everywhere.

450hp+ is to much on the factory transmission, i'm sure some handle it, but its not a good idea imo

as for 6 speed... you can look into the s15, but yes you have to use the s15 helical lsd(there might be another method by now)

and there is the 350z transmission, idk much about it but i know people have done it

sr20-ka tranny's....same with different bellhousings, so all you have to do is swap the bellhousing over

also... i'm sure there is a way to use a t56 transmission, just have to get a custom adapter made
