Hey guys. I think some of guys already know it but I will just post it. I just checked Bride Japan home page and found they posted how to check fake bride seat (gias,vios3,digo,cuga)
1) go to www.bride-jp.com
2) check top page left side "news" then click "copy商品にご注意ください"(click copy product). There are some PDF files with pics. You can see pics of fake and authentic bride seat. They explain detail of difference.
Also, they said if you are not sure your seat is fake or not, they can investegate for you (You need to contact them and send your seat pics)!
I hope it will help you guys! ;)
Thanks.

If it's made in Taiwan, it's a bride seat, it just didn't come with a receipt from tee's. And that's what you get for outsourcing labor, BOOM!

as in, its the same thing as the real deal?
because i know bride is a registered trademark in taiwan, just not the same company who registered the name in japan.

i heard the story goes:
bride slacked on updating the trademark, so one of the higherups in the company split and took the name with him. he started producing the seats in taiwan to the same specifications as the japanese made seats and started selling them for less.
meanwhile bride japan got fucked over legally with the name issuew, and now must label the seats "bride japan".
right?

hey if thats the case and i am getting a seat of similar quality, then fuck it.
i mean, a seat really comes down to three things: the rigidity of the shell, the quality of the cloth/padding and the design.

If you want FIA seats call bride, if you aint racing formula D that shit doesn't matter, you're just impressing the fanbois.
Besides I don't like their seats anyway. But yeah they got fucked they were having their seats manufactured in taiwan, let the trademark thing slip and the factory has all the molds and yada ya.
got fucked in court, and now they gotta change their name while the other company still sells the same shit they're pumping out. If anything is fake it's their newer seats like zeta 3 L's or the cuga's or whatever they're callled.

Is there any other way to tell if its a replica? I picked up a pair of Bride Gais seats over the weekend on a trade. Whether they're replicas or not, the seats look to be VERY well made. The Bride tags state "Made in Japan." Here are a few pics of the makings on the seats.

It's funny that this thread would pop back up the day I bought my Bride.

You have EVERY sign of an authentic Bride, yet you don't believe it? Enjoy the deal you got. I just got a good deal on a Bride today as well. I'm on cloud 9 ATM.
Also, is the fabric part held on by clips underneath like so?

An authentic Bride will have all of these, a fake one will have NONE of these.

If I can only find a good deal on a pair of brackets. Any ideas where one might get a pair without paying $400.00?

Buddy Club rails are about $140 each. Much better than paying $200+ per rail for Bride rails.

that sucks about the copyright thing...
they should create a new name for their company and label it
'formerly known as Bride' ... now all the counterfitters have to start over.

i cant imagine actually knowing a person that buys knock offs and tells people their what they were knocked off of as a genuine product. gotta be embarassing tho when people pick it out. despite where its made, its just been the way of times, im still confident ill get a good product even if its not made in japan like it used to be because, generally, companies have specific guidelines and standards for their products that must be met regardless. when i can afford some GIAS, ill still buy BRIDE. on a side note, i run Federal 595's, great bang for buck tires, those are made in taiwan too. hm.

Yours are fake too (like I said in the other thread). You can choose to believe me or not. I don't really care.
You understand that the Chinese are VERY good at replicating shit right? Have you seen the Sciphone C6? Google it. The fake Brides come with the same stickers and tags and model numbers that real Brides do now. I ordered a set off eBay and compared them to a real Bride and OTHER than the velvet-ish upper bolster material the seats were exactly the same. And even that difference was very subtle...
JDMbyBlood's seats were replicas. Sorry to knock you off cloud 9...
Ya, I mean... how hard would it be for the Chinese copy cats to just put those simple tags and shit on the seats?
If they can replicate the whole seat almost exactly... why couldn't they add a couple stickers/tags?
I'm not saying yours are fakes... but you know what they say...
"if it sounds too good to be true..."

what does the real fabric on the red Zeta's feel like? i got a "cheap red Zeta and its nice, stitching is solid, made in japan tag, but the fabric is kinda meh. when i ordered it off egay, i was assuming/hoping that it would be like that silky smooth kinda fabric, but it feels like a thin, clothy kinda shit.. idgaf i paid 225 for it
leung

It should be clothy and not silky smooth. Pics would be easier to tell.

ya i believe so as well.. im just mainly curious what if feels like to sit in a legit zeta, then sit in my zeta.. like structural integrity and fabric between the 2
leung

Not sure on the structural integrity on the fake ones, but the fakes def way tighter and more snug in a bad way than the real ones.

I can't tell you 100% yea that it's real but I'm positive that looks exactly like my old bride, which was a legit one. Everything is exactly the same, sticker location and placement, colors, even the spring thingy.
I would say yes, that is a legit bride.

Purchased this today for 100$.
Is the back cover an authentic Bride piece, or did they never make such a thing?
Also, is it possible to buy the missing plastic harness eyelet anywhere?
http://matejblahut.com/gallery3/var/albums/hobby/zeta.jpg
Back piece should be authentic, I've seen a few on yahoojp.

If that's the same guy i've dealt with in that area (John Williams) hes a sketchy dude, lots of stories of him ripping kids off. If its him, stay away.

The seats are in mint condition... and they would look great in my car, but the guy gave me a bad vibe by wanting to rush the sale - so I backed off to do some research. I don't know the guys name, but he is located in Burnaby.
If anyone can tell me exactly what to look for in these Bride Euro II seats so I know if they are just reproductions bought off of ebay.

Just be careful. Should similar, he is very rushed and very pushy with sales, not to mention hes a dick in person If you're texting him the last four digits are 3447 [don't want to get in trouble for posting the whole number]

ask him for receipts, also on the newer seats, upon purchase, there is a tag on the side unique to the seat with a bar code thingy.

Thanks guys for all your help... I'm thinking I'm going to pass on the seats since the seller can't produce any documentation stating they came with his car.
Seems like too much money since its proving hard to determine if they are reproductions.
If anyone can provide exactly what a true bride seat has that is missing from a fake... I'm still all ears
