Let's try this again, as the previous post got locked some time ago...
With my new position and working 60 hours a week, I just don't have the time to devote to cars at this point. As such, my Skyline is up for sale. The car is legal, registered and has been in the country for almost two decades, having come in as a personal import in the days when that was allowed. It has a BAR label on the door.
This very car was also used in Fast & Furious 3: Tokyo Drift, in the parking lot drifting scene (you didn't really think the movie was filmed in Japan, did you ;) ?). You may have also seen it at JCCS 2005 and 2006.
Features:
Red/black two tone - the perfect color for DR30s, just like the Tomica Group 5 car
FJ20ET 16 valve - the holy grail of Nissan engines
Exhaust of unknown origin
Suspension:
- coilovers (Jenesis) with Cusco camber plates in front (have spare set of Cusco camber plates as well)
- springs with adjustable shocks in the rear (KYB)
- Cusco strut bar
Interior:
- Safety 21 4-point roll bar
Exterior:
- 15x7 0 offset mesh wheels
- '84 Hot-Plate tails (still have the '83s)
Also comes with old-school bucket seat, HKS FMIC (DR30-specific), and has a bunch of spares, including gaskets and even control arms
What it needs:
- turbo needs to be rebuilt, but there is a guy in SoCal selling an HKS manifold and turbo for about $200.
- clutch seems to be on the way out, but an SR clutch fits.
This car was grandfathered in and is 100% legal in California. Even with the DOT's 25-year rule, cars older than 1975 cannot be imported to California as they will not pass smog. This one received a BAR label in the 80's and is compliant.
