so there is talk Ford may bring over the Focus RS. i cant wait the car looks great and supposedly performs even better.
305hp 324ft/lbs 2.5 5cyl engine
RevoKnuckle front suspension(supposed to stop torque steer)
same frame as the Mazdaspeed3
FWD (i know most hate this but it works)
they say it will kill the current fastest fwd around the ring
supposedly the fastest car around Ford Europe's test track. Ford GT included.
here are some pics

Jalopnik - 305 HP Ford Focus RS Coming To America? - ford focus rs (http://jalopnik.com/5200370/305-hp-ford-focus-rs-coming-to-america)

The final strop back down the Col de Vence itself cements the road as one of my all-time favourites and also leaves me longing for the next time I can get into an RS. There probably haven’t been that many quicker descents into Vence. And if you think that’s fanciful hyperbole then consider this: the Focus RS is the fastest ever car around the handling circuit at Ford’s Lommel Proving Ground in Belgium – Ford GT included.

I would rock the hell out of that.

Hell, quite secretly, I would wheel an SVT focus too

fixed ~!!!!!

They've been doing that all along, bringing it over properly would be a fix to the problem.
Unfortunately, shit being as it is, I don't see it happening.

I still prefer the 2010 Tautus SHO...

Yeah...

It may be pretty rad but, I can't imagine it selling too well.Everyone says they will rock it but, everyone is broke as fuck and none of you will buy it.

Maybe if GM and Chrysler go down it will fill the niche that the Srt-4 and Cobalt currently fill. Douchebag Ricer Fly-By-Mobile

umm, why don't they offer the freaking 4WD Focus Cosworth. I'm sick of this FWD crap...

i drive a high hp/tq fwd car and its not nearly as bad as everyone says it is. the torque steer just keeps you on your toes. you can get the back end to rotate, its not too hard. im most impressed by the fact that it beats the Ford GT around the track. Top Gear also tested it and they raced the RS vs the GT the stig drove the GT and Clarkson drove the RS. the GT won by about 1 second. even Clarkson was amazed.

why didnt RS model come out in state in first place?

considering it is "FORD" ....

so this car make "Fastest FWD from factory" ?

i remember i read from magazine Dodge Neon turbo (srt4) was fastest FWD so far...

lucky7
04-20-2009, 03:27 PM
then the MS3 was fastest.

VROOOM

fastest car aound the ring is Megane R26.R at 8:16, but its basically a striped out carbon fiber everything, roll caged street car. the fastest normal car is the Cobalt SS at 8:22.

i have an MS3 its alot of car for the money.

I've been wishing ford would bring this to america ever since its debut in WRC. I'd rock one fo sho. white one dumped on some gold OZ super tourings with some mud flaps call it a day. Bigger wing for me preeze.

Price tag will be the kicker. If it wants to sell it will need to be low mid to low 20's

I've been waiting for them to bring over the COOLER euro models that they NEVER release here.

It's kinda like how Subaru wouldn't bring over the turbo model Impreza until they brought the WRX and that shit took off.

i'd rock it, but it won't be in the US for this current model; maybe in few years. i dunno, gimme the renault instead.

SRT4 NorCal people are some of the WORST drivers I've EVER seen.

They're such ricers.

The only mature ones I see are over 30.

What exactly is the process of getting these produced in America?

I mean hell, it's a really good car. Why not produce it here?

not gonna happen.

this thing sells for $36K in england, it's a different chassis than the current focus which will require new crash tests and new factory tooling(it's the same as the 3 but they still need new tooling and testing). i can't see this low volume car as it's own unique bodystyle. maybe build them in the same factory as the euro version, though i'm not sure if that is a good move euro to dollar wise.

ford has built themselves into a value (cheap) brand and now they can't sell a small car for much more than $20k. it would have to sell for around $30K, and while that's pretty comparable to the competetion (STi, AWD, $35K; MS3, fwd, less power and performance, $25K), it's probably not enough to make any money. maybe on the next chassis, if ford is around that long.

the 09 and up Focus uses the same chassis as the MS3 and the Focus RS. i also checked the price an MS3 sells here for 24k in Spain they sell for 18,900 euros which if converted would be 37k dollars. so who knows the RS may come here for around 25k.

I wonder if they're going to keep the body style. The car looks cool but........... its still a Ford. IDK if i would even consider getting one.

Its stupid how they produce the Saleen n2o Focus here in the US, with the "fake" nitrous kits (you had to pay to get the functional jets)...and lag on getting something like THIS into the states...

It still sucks regardless, i myself, am personally done modding FWD...

the USDM focus is on a modified version of the old focus. the mazda 3, euro focus, volvo c30, s40, and v50 are all on the same, all new chassis. here are some better articles.
