ok so i have a 89 s13 and i just swapped a ka24de into it. it's from a 96 s14. i changed the distributor and intake manifold so that it would work with a s13 harness. oh and i also 5speed swapped it. i got it running last weekend and of course it started up and died cause timing wasn't set properly. so i messed with the timing and got nothing. i unplugged the MAF and it idled fine. so i thought maybe it was a bad MAF. i pickup a known good one a couple days later and tried it out. no luck. still with it plugged in it would idle sporadically for a few seconds then die. after thinking it over and talking to some friends i thought maybe o2 sensor cause i used the one of the ka24e that was in the car and that may have had a blown head gasket. so picked up a new and still no luck again. i'm going to try and swap ECU's with someone and see what happens cause the ECu i have i got from a friend and he wasn't dead positive it was s13 ECU. anybody got any ideas i would really appreciate it. thanks.
