so i've been talking to a few local turbo mustang guys and they swear by water/meth injection. i searched on here and came up with one thread.
http://zilvia.net/f/tech-talk/149609-alchohol-meth-injection-whos-done.html
now this is back in 07 so i'm wondering if anyone new has played around with it? i was looking at the aem kits. they seem pretty simple and the benefits seem almost to good to be true.
i'm also really curious about what was said in that thread about winsheild washer fluid. can you seriously use that in place of a true 50/50 mix.
sounds like an easy way to protect an engine from detonation and from what i've read and what was said in that thread it looks like you can run way more boost.

There's tons of info about it all over the internet.. It's definitely a good thing to run, mostly used with high hp setups... it can be a hassle with the filling the tank/wiring the trip on off etc
You can use window washer fluid but only if it is straight 50/50 water/methanol, most of the stuff you see at stores is closer to 30% methanol with additives and shit.
You can run more boost but it's not the end-all of tuning, it effectively bumps the octane rating up, but it's still the same amount of fuel

i have not had the experience nor means to do this injection but i do have very high hopes and i do believe it does work.
i do believe it raises your octane because the ionized h20 cools down detonation temperatures right?
and because of this your engine is also saved by running at reduced temps right?

water/meth cools cylinder temps and increases the detonation point of your fuel (same effect as running super high octane fuel) allowing you to run increased boost levels/advanced timing with no ill effects. modified mag did testing a few months ago with a water/meth setup on an s15 and picked up iirc 60 hp after dyno tuning. (i'll try to find the article so i can post exact results)

yeah thats what "they" say. basically i lower engine temps. and because it increases the octane rating you can also advance timing. basically from what i've read the only down side is having an extra tank to worry about, but the aem kit comes in either 1 or 5 gallons tanks. i can't see someone going through 5 gallons in a hurry.
thx for those links. i'm gonna give them a read.

Its a fairly common topic with rotaries.
