Can i use an afc instead of a fmu to control my stock injectors under boost?(for a ka24de) If so, whats the difference in price between the two? The reason I am asking is because I want to start off with low boost(4-5 psi) , and for this I need a fmu. But if I want to try and boost it up later(7psi), I will probably need a afc and injectors. If I ran low boost and then wanted to boost it up would the fmu be usless for the new inJectors? How much boost can the stock injectors handle and the fuel pump with no problems? If I go with a fmu what ratio would be best?

You get tired of NICO? They're morons over there for the most part.
The AFC costs like $280, and FMU cost like $70. I'd get the AFC, because when you swap injectors, you will feed many times more fuel on the same ratio disk than you need. They are kinda crappy. The AFC you can run whatever injectors, and tune for free (dyno time only), whereas you'd need many disks for the FMU to find the right one on a dyno.

The stock injectors should really not be relied on for any turbo application, in my opinion. You can use them with a FMU if you want, but it's a bandaid solution and I don't like to use it as a central fuel system control. The AFC does not control boost, either does the FMU, I think you know that, but your title doesn't reflect that knowledge.

If you are planning of boosting more then 4psi (I don't know what wastegate you will get if you plan on less then that) then you should get larger injectors. If you get larger injectors, then you need something to let the computer know (JWT, AFC, bypass tube)

An AFC should be able to be purchased for less then $300 and the 370cc injectors that replace your stock ones in the stock fuel rail (assuming ka24de) from the sr20det are about $100 for all 4.

let me know if you have more ?'s and don't be afraid to search, I have talked about fuel management a lot on this site.
