just curious for your s chassis, z chassis, whatever the heck, i have some ghetto energizer brand battery right now and i feel like it's gonna take a crap on me any minute. i'm no bandwagon jumper so whatever you got is fine. i'm just looking to see the best bang for the buck deal. also, pics would help thanks.

I use a braille 2317r. I had a odyssey battery for 3 years before it finally died on me. I bought the braille since it was only 20 or 30 dollars more than the odyssey and looks sleeker in black. Plus it definitely performs better than the odyssey.

Optima red top. Not sure it is worth the money. I mean it starts the car like any other battery. I did not pay for it. It came with the car so I like it.

i had a wally world battery in my talon. if i didnt start the car for a couple days, it would go completely dead. i replaced it 3 times before i got one that could hold a charge. what a piece. my redtop is going on prob 3 years now. i just charged it up about a month ago, and went to start up the car on sunday. it started fine. i was expecting it to be dead again.

I am using an Optima Yellow Top Starting/Deep Cell. I use it for more than one vehicle on a regular basis so I can't say whether it has lost a charge from sitting or anything yet. Little more slim than the red top I was using. Red Top is in a Chevy Silverado now, since it fit the Chevy battery tray almost perfect I decided it was too large for the 240...
Will be looking into the Braille a lot more next time I look for a replacement.

I use a Autozone 800CCA "Gold" battery, because it's free, and works fine. In a custom batt tray in the trunk, of course :)
Optima Redtop, relocated to the trunk.

That probably has more to do with your car - what kind of charge does the battery keep when fully charged?

Same thing - usually it's not the battery if it's taking a full charge to begin with.

I've had a $40 Kmart battery in my car for the last two years but now I got a front mount ic waiting to be installed. I like the 14 lb weight of the pc680 but I have 2 10" subs with a 350 watt amp though. I'd apreicate some opinons on what I should buy.
1. Odyssey pc680 from ebay for $120 (super light but low cca, can't drive to Ebay to return it though) 2. $89 Miata battery from local Vato Zone (ugly, not agm, waranty is good though) 3. $89 Bosch Miata battery from Pep boys ( same cca as #2 plus I think its a sealed bat, good waranty also)

I'm on my 2nd Odyssey right now. I had the first for about 2 years and performed without fault. Over the winter though, I should have put it on a trickle charger, because it won't hold a charge now (my fault). I bought another because it already fit with my intercooler pipes and my I wont have to get another bracket to hold it down.

Same here I been using Odysseys for awhile and when I keep them charged they never let me down. But everytime I go oversea's they die for sitting. It's still all good thou since they have a 3 yr garantee. I guess I should invest in a trickle charger also.

That's very interesting information right there....according to Deka's website they're 21lb batteries are not the same as the Braille ones.
I'm running the B3121 battery with these ratings:
21lbs/9.5kg
1380 Pulse Cranking Amps
31 Amp/Hr Reserve
6.6” x 5.2” x 6.8"
Right Side Positive
I've had zero issues with the battery at all. I can completely understand running an 11lb bare bones battery in a track car, but I DD my car and have a sub/amp and I didn't want to risk it. The 21lb battery is slightly smaller then a miata battery, WAY more powerful, weighed less, and from what I could find it was not that much more money either.

I am having electrical nuisances with the car lately, I think it mainly has to deal with the grounding. I am going to hook the battery up to a trickle charger and see if it still holds charge. Not, the first time this has happened. It died the other day and left me stranded on the road, needless to say I wasn't too dapper about that.

werd, got one and love it, i went from an interstate that crapped out on me and then a bad alt and this duralast freaking rocks. I am thinking about a dry cell Braille next, if this one dies on me.

I've run one of those interstate batteries for a while. I liked those despite being wet cell. I had an energizer battery for a while in my sentra but it blew up three different times so I definately don't recommend keeping that. I've run 3 different optima red tops in 3 different 240's and a maxima and loving every minute of them. I have a AGM Style miata battery that's going in but I haven't tried that yet so can't comment on it.

good info here guys. i guess i'll try the optima red top and see how that goes...i might splurge on a braille though but i don't really care about weight reduction...yet.

westco miata. nice, cause it fits sidways in the stock battery tray so you can run and intercooler pipe through that area easier. and it was fairly inexpensive.
Depends, if you're a baller use a Odyssey batteries (no not Honda), if you're on a budget the Wal-Mart Ever-Start batteries are among the best values.
