car idles funny and stalls

i just bought an s14 240sx w/ sr20 in it...but ive noticed a couple things


when im driving and i get into boost then throw it in neutral right away then my rpms will just drop and my car will stall...when the rpms are dropping i can rev it a little to keep it alive and if i just dont throw it into neutral right away and let my car decelerate by itself for a second then put it in neutral it seems to be fine...any help would be appreciated (im new to these forums for the most part all my post were about buying a car so sorry if this is in the wrong area or something)


also my car idles funny it will be up around 1k and then drop to as low as 700 and go back up and stay for a second and go back up this is pretty much happening all the time.

700rpm is normal idle with the car being warmed up.

is your car running an safc? what kind of maf? open atmospheric blow off valve or recirculated? these things affect the car stalling on deacceleration, many people experience this.. whoever sold you the car should of told you about it, but i'm sure they could forget:rolleyes:..

yea its running on safc...and its a greddy BOV type s...im not sure which category that falls into lol and i was planning on buying the type rs...would that help any?

well if its running on the afc then you could try adjusting the deacceleration air settings.. the type of bov isn't the case its the matter of if its open to the atmosphere or recirculated to the intake.. well you can tell if its open if your car is doing the big pisssshhhh sound.. but i don't recommend messing with the afc settings unless you know what your doing, cause whoever you got the car from could have it setup to run te way it is, but if willing to try have at it..

yea im not gonna mess with any of that i have a good friend that can do it, thanks for the help guys if all else fails i could always just drive it the way it is because i know how to make it so it doesnt happen lol. its just annoying
