I pretty much have everything to start my motor build. I'm going to post up what I have, and see what you guys think. I know there are a lot of different opinions, when it comes to turbos, so i'm open to all suggestions. I just want to make sure, everything will work together, and get the most power I can out of my sr. So, here goes.
s13 redtop
Head:
HKS 264 step 2 cams, Tomei RAS, 3 angle valve job, tomei cam gears, tomei headgasket 1.8 mm, ported and polished, with a 3 angle valve job, deatschworks 740cc injectors, ARP head and main studs.
Block: CP pistons 87 mm, eagle rods, stock crank (micro balanced), gt3071r
.86 with an HPI japan manifold. Bottom mounted. ATI balanced crank pulley, walboro fuel pump, lightened pulley set. Everything is going to be taken apart, machined, and micro balanced, before it's put all together. I'm going to be using a power fc to tune. What do you guys think, and what suggestions might you have?

Meh on the PFC, would rather go haltech because you are going to have individual cylinder tuning issues because of the pistons and port polish and valve job.

Junk the injectors, get some SARD 850's. You will have nothing but problems with the Dwerks.

What about the AEM ems? I'll look into those SARD injectors. I thought that Dwerks had a good reputation.

I hate the AEM software.

Haltech just released new ecu's that are more power full than the Motech, but the same price as the older e8/e11v2 ecus.

Also the software is so freaking awesome, fluid, simple to understand.

Dwerks is good guy, good company, the injectors do flow what they say they should. But based on a few fundamentals there are issues.
*injectors are old, and injectors are a wear item
*injectors are Denso Type I, even the Nismo Type I 740's don't work that well

Based on my tuning experience I have always had trouble getting smooth idles and afr's with dwerks and other large type I's.

Sard's on the other hand, I can get to idle and run on a stock sr without any problems.

The difference is the spray pattern, build and minimum open time. Since an injector is really just an solenoid, the minimum open time is critical to metering small amounts of fuel, especially when the injector is larger.

Best effective open time I have used with a type I injector is 1.3ms

Best with the type II (sard) is .6ms

Just based on this, cars with these injectors idle better, respond better, have more solid fuel maps, and afr outputs.

Damn, those sards are going to set me back a pretty penny. But, I see what you are saying. One of the main reasons I want to go power fc, is because of the price. Damn EMS's cost so much these days, and I know a lot of people that have run the power fc, with no problems.
