The first thing to check when you get clunks in the front end is the T/C rod bushings. If they're cracked and leaking goo, replace them with Whiteline polyurethane bushings, unless you want to jump to adjustable T/C rods with pillowball mounts.

I had the clunk a couple of months ago and tossed in the Whiteline poly bushings. The noise disappeared, but came back a few weeks later. The bolt on the bracket that holds the sway bar bushing had disappeared. I found a replacement, put it in, and the noise went away, again. Then it came back, again. The bolt I'd replaced was gone again, and I noticed that the bolt directly above the round end of the T/C rod was missing. It's probably been missing all along, letting the T/C rod bracket wiggle around and working the sway bar bracket bolt loose. Guess what I'm doing Saturday? I just hope there are still threads in the frame rail where that bolt went...

CLunk in the front end is probably either:

Wheel bearings
T/C rod bushing
Strut mount somewhere (loos bolt?)
Sway bar binding

do you feel the clunk in your steering wheel? or just hear it?

That's normally a clunk at full steering lock. I have worn tie-rod ends and I get the clunk. I just have been too lazy to replace them. I also think it is a T/C rod. I hit a huge pothole last summer and murdered my bushing in the T/C and replaced it and haven't had the noise come back

About the hopping--sounds like you could have a completely blown strut. Try pushing/bouncing down on that corner of the car and see how many times it bounces after you stop pushing on it--and how far it bounces up after you push down on that corner.

...96SEChick i know what u are trying to say i think ... thats kinda like those cheap coilovers (arospeed) that are so stiff that u just bounce all over the place wen u hit bumps... but its not like that.. i would just drive down my road going like 15 mph and it would accually bounce... i dont know what is going on... could it still possably be the tc rods?? or maybe that my car has just springs\struts in the rear and they are super bouncy... could that make my front bounce?... well i dont think so because they bounced a little wen i had just springs on the front but i couldnt feal it as bad as now because i have a full coilover and metal pillowmount.... still any ideas? if anyone thinks this is a tc rod still let me know before 9pm please!!!!!!!

Sorry this is not related and i honestly do not have any advice for you, but what kind of rims are on your car (the car on your signature)? Are the powdered stock rims?

Check your sway bar, and make sure it isn't binding up.. grease up the bushings in the mounting brackets. the bar has to be able to twist in those brackets. The bar should have NO load on eiter side when the suspension is compressed.
