I have searched for like many months know.
I can't make up mind because there is no easy answer. The most I would spend is $2000 shipped on my first pair of coilovers. The car has rebuilt sohc plus 2-way and is my DD. I know stance is the shit and has a good price range, but I don't want to purchase a coilover and have to fix something down the line(I know the problems have been fixed but I searched and still heard of some out there):( For me that does not put me in good state of mind. I prefer to purchase something that I won't have to look back on for a while. With that being said and out of the way help me out, I have talked to my local shop and he tells me that valving is most important, also he said to look for company's that have had their coilover's valved by good company's. SO please by all mean's give reviews on setup's that you have ran or are currently running. Once I get this out of the way my ride is ready to go:madfawk:.....SRY I DOn't Like BAndWagons:cry:

There is nothing wrong with Stance's. Buy a set and save $1000. There's no reason to spend $2k on coilovers when you're that 'new to the game'.

If you really did want to spend $2k, look into the DSG 240's suspension setup - something like some coilover sleeves, good springs, and Koni 86xx struts.

Sure there are no more issue's. NOt new to the game just never bought coilover's. Been using shock and spring, but my springs are blown so its time for a change...

Haha.

August 2008 join date, SOHC, and thinking your "springs" are blown tell me you're new to the game.

Not hatin, just trying to save you some dough. Talk to a Stance distributor (like Togue Factory) about their quality control now-a-days... if you still feel like you might not get a perfect product and their customer service won't cover it, feel free to look elsewhere.

Also, I DD my S14 on almost the softest damping settings (12 clicks out in the front, full soft in the back), and although I love it, its still stiffer than any OEM car. If you want something to JUST DD, Tein Flex's are sprung and valved softer (not to mention, cheaper).

Why do you have a 2 way on a DD? Is DDing the only thing you will be doing?

I would go Tein FLEX if you are just going to be DDing.

Springs don't blow, its a physical impossibility. Shocks do though. Your shocks are blown, your springs are most likely fine.
Getting a set of Stances, would most likely be perfect for your experience level and what you are looking for in terms of ride and stiffness. I.E. a fairly good trade off for the money.

Just be honest. You're either "new to the game", or you're a fucking idiot. Or perhaps, both.

Two grand? Tanabe Sevens.

stance will send out new pillow ball mounts, without question.
they have great customer service.
i bought a set for my old s13. loved 'em. very firm, but still comfortable for dding.
do it. you'll be happy.

also have apex n1 type ex.v in my 14. those are good too. very comfy.

will be running a set of tein flex in my new dd. might switch to a stiffer spring, if too soft. but we'll see.

there are lots of threads covering this already.

I drift and daily my car.

I bought a set of used AGX/KYB struts and shocks (4 and 8 way adjustable) with RSR springs. they have lasted 2 years now. they are a softer than coilovers, but with Low HP, the wieght transfer actually helps me initiate drifts and weight transfer around corners better.

just sayin.

i called Stance a week ago asking about the Z32 lower fork conversion and asked them about the LX+Plus (http://stance-usa.com/sus/products/coilovers/lxplus) Model

I wanted a set for the Wife's Project DD car and they siad they are gonna start making them for the S-Chassis possibly the begining or middle of next month

So i'm definaly gonna picking up some of these

Yeah! RSR Race Springs are actually 5k/5k I believe, maybe even 6k/5k, which would be the same stiffness as Tein Flex's, and KYB AGX's are at least as good as the dampers in Flex's.

I've had a set of Tanabe Sevens (right when they came out), they're valved well for the 10k/8k springs they come with, but it's too harsh for a fun DD (or even a canyon car) - drift/time attack on a smooth track only.

I recall RSR Race springs being 5 kg/mm fronts and 4 kg/mm rears.

Megan/Ksport sell the stiffest lowering springs on the market. They are 6.2 kg/mm fronts and 4.5 kg/mm rears.

so the new sets of stance are good to go. YOu guys think the pro seven won't be good for DD how harsh we talkin, something like the PBM harsh or less. I don't touge or speed on the street just normal driving. Oh and hey what about KTS NEver heard anything bad...

i have Bridgestone NPGs on my S14. I like them better than my tiens, they are stiff but you can still put up with them for daily driving. They are extremely well valved i think. All you have to do is find some

i ordered my stance gr+ pro's from enjuku. after ordering it dawned on me that i forgot to see about the z32 forks that i need for my setup. i called stance directly about my drop shipped order. they added the z32 forks in FREE without question. hell the rep i talked to even asked me how my day was going. top notch business IMO.

wish i would have suggested s14 lower shock mounts so i wouldnt have to get some cheesy sleeves for my bolts for my 5 lug spindles.

Yeah but they are valved for stock 1.5kg to 3kg of most aftermarket. I dunno how they would handle the 5k and for how long.

I bought them used.
And have daily and tracked them for over 2 years!

But i stopped setting the valves to soft for daily use over a year ago.
And I am always waiting for one to blow.
I think I have been very fortunate :)

Yeah, pretty sweet deal. He actually ran some standard JIC FLT-A2's in the rear for the few laps he got in last year off of my personal car. Even still he seemed to be turning damn quick times with a mismatched setup.

Getting some camber plates soon. Apparently Cusco fronts will work. But I've also seen Tein's work too, but they have a different brearing size than Cusco. I'm kind of stumped.

^ what the fuck did you just type?

This thread is such a waste. Buy a fucking set of whatever coilover you want already.

Numerous people have already chimed in to let you know that Stance produces a great coilover for the money and that customer service is great. You disregard this completely and continue making statements that leave me to believe you're far from being the sharpest tool in the shed.

I say stick with stock suspension because it doesn't really seem you're capable of making the right choice for yourself or that you would even know what to do with the coilovers once they arrive.
