QUEENS (WABC) -- A person apparently committing suicide jumped from a railing at the Queens Center Mall and landed on a boy on the ground floor.
The person plunged from a third floor inside the mall, in the Elmhurst section of Queens, just before 2:30 p.m.
The jumper landed on a 17-year-old teen who was walking on the mall's ground floor.
The teen was rushed to Elmhurst Medical Center with head trauma.
The jumper was pronounced dead at the scene.
Elmhurst Hospital says the boy is in stable condition. He has head injuries, but he is expected to survive.
