alright ive been trying to figure out this issue for a couple weeks. when i drive my car it lacks power starting in 1st gear. It bogs/hesitates and eventually gets rolling. Wierd thing is it doesnt do that when i reverse. its actually completely opposite. maybe bad trans? theres no grinds or anything.

any ideas are appreciated

ive checked timing and, for the most part, its alright. if i had a problem with timing i think it would affect driving forward and reverse, not just forward.

What happens in the other gears? Or, if you start out in 2nd gear instead of 1st?

Reverse is always geared higher than any other (forward) gear. So even if your engine is bogging down trying to go forward, it's much easier for it to move the car in reverse. You don't feel the effect as much.

same thing happens for 2nd and 3rd from a start. i have to disengage the clutch a little for the start to have some kick

yea i know. i can actually burn out if i let the clutch out with some power. im stumped.:wtf:

So after it gets going, there's no problems? Or does the bog continue, it's just masked by the car's momentum?

yea id say its masked after i took a short test drive a bit ago. reverse doesnt seem to bog at all

Bad intake seal between afm and tb.

When you take off, clutch to diff transfers load moving the engine, pulling apart your intake. Look for leaks.

ok intake piping had a pin hole. its fixed. doubt it would of contributed to my issue though. replaced the cap and rotor. and im still having the same issue. idle is more stable though after cleaning the aic.

im still having this powerloss/hesitation/bogging issue. anyone?
