View Full Version : Anyone running a bee*r?

Hey there! I've got an s14 SR and I bought a bee*r for it because it didn't seem to have the stock rev limiter. I found this out after I revved to 8k a couple times, and I do not think that my ECU is chipped. Anyway, I wired the unit according to the how to I found on this forum and when I hit the set rev limit the light blinks as it should but the unit does not cut my ignition, it just lets me keep revving. Does anyone have any ideas of why this could be happening? Any input is appreciated, thanks! http://www.driftworks.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif

you did cut the wires correctly right?

yesir. gray wire is split.
Here is the writeup I used as my reference:

my next question would be are you sure you used the right diagram according to that site? N01 or N02?

I used the N02 diagram and I also have an ecu pinout diagram that I used to make sure I connected the units wires the the proper signal wires. The only thing I can think of is my ecu is jacked up for some reason or maybe I have an auto ecu (since auto's have no limiter)??? My ecu says "WC" on it if that helps at all.

wc is the zenki s14 ecu there for you need to use N01

See, thats what didn't make sense because the way bee*r has the diagram printed is nothing like the wiring on my ecu. Here is the ecu pinout diagram I used:
Nissan 200SX S14 SR20DET ECU Pinouts | Kouki Tech (http://www.kouki.co.uk/reference/nissan-200sx-s14-sr20det-ecu-pinouts)
I connected the yellow wire on the unit to a lavender/black wire, pin #7 on my ecu. This one I think is correct because like I said, the light blinks when I rev to the set limit so this checks out that the unit is receiving an RPM signal.
The green wire on the unit I connected to a Black/Red wire labeled as "Ignition Switch" pin #45 on the diagram. This seems to be the wire that actually cuts ignition after receiving the RPM signal from the ecu, so if it is a wiring issue that is causing it not to work then this wire should be it. HOWEVER, I do not know of any other "ignition signal" wires coming from the ecu that I should be wiring this to. What exactly is the "ignition switch" and is this in fact different than the "ignition signal" that bee*r says to connect to?
Bee*R's instructions are hardly any use to me since I can not read Japanese and their pinout diagram is not at all accurate to my ecu, and since I can't read Japanese I cannot tell if they even state the exact color of the ignition wire coming from the ECU that I am supposed to tap into.
Here is Bee*R's diagram:

Much different from the diagram in the link I listed above, which is the diagram I have been using for all of my wiring since I started my swap and hasn't been wrong yet.

I'm wondering, are you supposed to ground this unit to the ecu or to the chassis? I have mine grounded to the chassis... could this be the issue?

directly from Bee*r's website:
車種により黒線はバッテリーマイナスアースが好ましい。
Depending on the car the black wire is best connected to the minus earth point on the battery.
i dont think it matters where you ground it.

Ugggghh, I don't understand all these contradictory instructions. Am I supposed to splice the yellow and green wires to my CAS???? The instructions I had before confused me by saying to connect to RPM signal and Ignition signal.
Guess I'll try the CAS wiring and see if anything changes.
I'm gonna have to make an elaborated write up on how to wire this jawns once I get it working properly.
Thanks for the links E :wavey:

no problem man. assuming that diagram came directly from Bee*R i would go with what they say to do.

Okay so I wired it in exactly as bee*r says to do it and I am still having the same problem. The light blinks when I rev to a set RPM but it does not cut my ignition. I noticed when looking at my ECU pinout diagram that there are two sets of Cam angle sensor wires, 2 white ones and 2 black ones. I'm wondering if the other two wires will work if I wire it to them instead? Maybe a bee*r misprint? Why does the CAS have 2 sets of wires anyway?
