So i bought a t28 and i wasn't sure If I needed new turbo lines or turbo elbow. My question is what exactly do i need to buy to make the t28 turbo compatible with my s14 sr20det.

s14's SR's come stock with a t28's..... so nothing, but SS line are easier to work with. If you have some mythical setup or built from scratch, you should have indicated as much.

S14 with and s14sr20det motor or s13sr20det motor? notchtop or flat blacktop? old blacktop comes with a t25. But it doesn't matter, it should bolt on like stock and stock lines work perfect.

But if i were you. I would buy all new line just for piece of mind, knowing that they are not old and worn out.

Circuit Sports S13 SR20DET Turbo Lines (Bottom Mount) (http://www.dm-spec.com/cisps13srtul.html) here's a set for $119.00

How do hard metal lines "wear out" exactly?

Stainless lines certainly facilitate turbo installation and removal. But they're not inherently better from a performance standpoint... If you have a spare $120 burning a hole in your pocket go for it. They do make working on the turbo/exhaust manifold 10x easier :)

he probably referred to the bending/flexing of the hard metal tube if you have removed/re-installed the turbo assy which eventually fatigues the metal. ss lines do not exhibit this behavior.

generally if you have an S13 SR and upgrade it to larger t28 turbo, they have kits to "re-clock" the intake compressor housing.

if you have an S14 motor you will not have to worry about this "reclock" issue.

why did you get a T28 if your engine already has one?

Well the OP didnt indicate if its the s14 t28 or the s15 t28 that he obtained.

It wouldn't really matter because spending the money on a S15 turbo for a S14 SR is pointless. Return it and buy a bigger turbo, or buy a S14 turbo for like 300 dollars less and make the same power.

the t28 is off a s15 which i got for 250 bucks. but the reason i bought a t28 is because if i go any bigger like a gt30 im going to have to tear apart my motor and build it. Or f there is any other suggestions on what i should do please let me know

Is there something wrong with the T28 that came with your S14 SR? The S14 and S15 T28s are nearly identical turbos... And you can run a larger turbo than a T28 without tearing apart or building your motor.

I suggest doing some more research.

what size turbo can i put on my engine with out tearing it all apart. Also what else would i need to do if i put a bigger turbo than a t28 on. Cause i figured with a gt30 i would need to at least build my head. Right?

GT28RS (disco-potato), GT2871RS, HKS and Greddy both make similar turbos that you can bolt on as well. If you have a bigger MAF, injectors, and good engine management you can make 350 without any issues.

Also, I don't blame you for picking up a S15 turbo for that price. Its just basically the same thing as your S14 turbo you already have.

^ after reading everything in this thread... I just feel it's kinda pointless at this point.
