alright so i have an 91 s13 with a stock KA24de. I wanna get the piping done from the stock cat-back only and im gonna end it with an HKS hi power muffler, but i dont know what size piping would be best for a stock dual cam, i dont want it to be too loud, and i heard that if ur piping is too big you sacrifice power.. what would be a good size for a nice aggresive sound, and maybe a tad bit more power??
help me out zilvians! you guys always have the answer!!

It has been discussed over and over and over and over again. KAs like 2.5 - 3".

3" inches is the best, even 3.5 is too big. 2.5" can work though.

What I would do is go 3 inch so if or when you go turbo, you don't have to redo your piping. Plus you won't feel much difference between 2.5 and 3 inch on the KA.

i would have to agree. 3" is a good size

is 3 inch THAT MUCH louder than a 2.5? or does it depend more on the resonators and etc

do 3" i dont think 3" is to loud. just make sure you get it made with the least amount of bends as possible. do not get it made just like the factory cat. the more bends the louder from my experince.

HKS Hipower is relatively quiet so I wouldn't worry about piping size

you will get a touch more bottom end with the 2.5, and it will be a little more powerful on the freeway with the 3".

But eitherway, your fucked, cause your putting a Grapefruit shooter exhaust on in SoCal.

Most of us have gone back to stock exhaust.

BTW, just got another fix it ticket yesterday coming home from NOS center in san bernadino.

"So I will just write you a fixable ticket for one of those things I listed."

"Alright, thanks sir."

There's a 2.5 full catback HKS system on zilvia for sale for around 145?? o something, I would just buy that and be done, being a K-DE i wouldn't do a 3" like the guy above said smaller will give you a little more low end.

i kinda do want more low end power.. not too worried about high end.. im not doing any freeway top speed racing.. but yeah ive been rolling on a stock exhaust for a long time, getting pulled over is one of the reasons i keep hesitating on getting my piping done.. sometimes i just feel like getting rid of this muffler and sticking to stock.. but i dont know.. alot of people say go 2.50 then the others say go 3. maybe i should just go 2.75 lol:coold:

You won't lose any bottom end. That's just peoples butt dynos talking.

Get oval can muffler and paint it and the tip black. Round N1 style cans are a lot louder then ovals.
