Ok im sure there is a thread SOMEWHERE on here about this question but i cant find it. I did a search using different search phrases but came back with nothing or very little not answering the question.

I have a 93 fastback. I am wanting to swap an sr into it. I am pretty set on a blacktop. so I was doing some searching on the internet for a complete swap. I noticed some say s14 blacktop 94-97. Yes i know all s14's were blacktop but as far as wiring and doing the swap are there any differences in doing the swap into my 93? or is it the same as doing an s13 blacktop/redtop swap/ thanks

There are 2 black top motors

s13 black top that came in 180sx from those years

s14 black top that comes in s14s

2 differnt motors

so if i were to purchase the s14 that comes in s14 cars is it more difficult to do the swap or better of just finding one from a 180sx? thanks again

Take it from someone who did that swap into an S14, its a bitch. S13 SR's are so much easier its rediculous. Just pick up the S13 blacktop (94-97 180sx) and swap that in. There is swap dvd's for either one, just check the tech threads. Besides the VTC (or w/e the fuck its called, dont care atm) usually gets disabled anyways by owners. Its all personal prefferance tbh. I say make it S13 blacktop, cheaper anyways.
