It kills me but I finally have to give up my car. I picked it up originally as a daily but after the KA quit after 1000 miles I swapped an S14 SR into it.
The Car:
1996 S14 base 83000 miles
5 lug swap with Brembo rotors and Hawk HPS pads
Enkei Performance ZR1 wheels front and rear, 18x8 +40 15mm spacer up front, 10mm spacer in the rear so they look good on the car.
Falken Azenis RT615 tires, F 225/40ZR18 R 255/40ZR18
S14 SR20DET engine
- maintenance: Headgasket (Cometic), Water pump and oil pump (OEM)
- spark plugs (NGK BKR6E changed 2 weeks ago)
- Oil changed every 3000 miles, used Mobil 1 each time.
- new 300zx twin turbo fuel filter (about 2 weeks ago)
S14 SR20 Transmission, shifts smooth as butter.
Brand new Garett GT28R turbo, Garett's version of the S15 T28, so dual ball bearing inconel blade, stainless steel turbo coolant and oil lines.
Megan Racing exhaust manifold leading into Generic downpipe, Vibrant performance high-flow cat and Motoria Catback (sounds sweet to me).
Greddy LS front mount intercooler with Gretty Type RS blowoff valve
Mishimoto aluminum S14 radiator with 14 inch electric fan wired into the ignition.
AC is installed but does not work due to a leak in the compressor (had it installed and filled, but it blew out all of the charge the first time I turned it on).
Driveshaft shop aluminum one-piece driveshaft leading into open diff.
Function and Form Phase 2 Coilovers front and rear.
Megan Racing tension rods.
Ebay RUCA's
The interior is incredibly clean for the car being this old. It has power windows and mirrors but no power locks.
The Bad:
The car needs new rear tires. The azenis are sweet tires but they wear way too fast. I've driven the car probably 15000 miles total, 10 on the falkens (were not new when I got them) and they are on the wear bars. I do have a pair of Falken Azenis ST115's which are fairly new that could be put on there.
The subframe bushings need replaced. And could probably use the rest of them replaced as well since it's a 14 year old car.
The clutch is starting to slip so that should be replaced as well.
It leaks a bit of oil but it's just a seal or two.
The trunk needs to be bondo-ed and painted where the spoiler holes are. The car didn't come with a spoiler originally but the previous owner took it upon himself to slap some stupid Razzi spoiler on there that started leaking and rattling. I got it off but haven't had the time to fix the holes. It's sealed currently so it's not leaking into the trunk.
Also the current bumper on there is white, I do have the gold bumper that came with the car but it has a large crack in it and both turn signal tabs are broken.
In conclusion, this is a car that could be driven home but will need some work to get it to run perfectly. It could use a good tune since it has a bigger than stock turbo. It does run, don't anyone mistake this as a non-running car, it runs very well in fact and it is a blast to drive, I just no longer have the energy nor the time to fix her the way I would like her to be. So I'm looking to find a new home for my baby, to sell it to someone who will make it all it can be.
I'll post pictures as soon as I get them, so tomorrow.
Price is $5500 OBO. It may seem a bit high, but let's face it, from the list up there, this car is worth more than that just in parts.
my email is [email protected], that is the best way to reach me as I check that evey day. I'm a very motivated seller so that OBO is very serious, if you think you have a reasonable offer or any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
